I was just curious to see if anyone had experienced WORSE conversion rates with an opt-in? We hear how great they are but I hear a GOOD opt-in rate is 50-60%. This means 40-50% are cut out before they even see my landing page... what if they would have been convinced by the landing page? Just wonder what your thoughts were on this : ) Ever curious, - Brandon L |

what if you were to send them to the landing page in the first email to them then what if you were able to keep sending them to landing pages time after time even a year from now when you have a new product your selling you can send the same people to that landing page... and so it goes on once on your list you can send them anywhere to buy |

Also, I was wondering is having a fade-over opt in over your landing page fine, or should you have a different page for your opt in? | |

I've used both on one of my content rich sites. I had a graphic/link where they could opt-in, and I also had that same offer "pop up" on the pages (or fade in) throughout the site. Some pages I opted not to put that "pop up" on, and others I wanted it. I'd say it depends upon the type of site you have and the type of pages you're putting the "pop up" opt-in box on - some pages do well with it, others don't. |

Know what you mean and it can also depend on the niche. The niches that lend themselves to repeat business are probably worth losing some of your traffic and building a list that you can market to repeatedly. For niches where the purchase is likely to be a once off - never repeated then it's probably not worth having the opt-in and just sending them to your affiliate link or product. Al |

It really depends, if your opt in is an exchange for very good content or a really good looking report, most will opt in and you can up-sell them from that point.

Hi Branlan, There was a thread here a few days ago about the difference between single optin results and double optin results. I may apply. I found it here: Receive 40-60% Landing Page Conversion Rates --> One Change |
