Setting up in business in the US for non residents

Hi, Does anyone have any experience of non US residents setting up an office in the USA. I read some time ago that there were accountants who would advise on setting up LLc in some states.
I am now looking for legal advise I am simply enquiring into the possibility of whether or not it is possible.
Any information would be helpful.
regards

fred

When I was starting out in 1999-2000, moving money between countries was pretty difficult. Paypal hadn't opened up Japan yet (where I was living), so I contacted a company in the US to form a corporation, file the papers, open a bank account and be the registered agent in the US. Whole thing cost about a thousand dollars at the time - no idea what it'd cost today.

I formed a Nevada corporation because there's no state income tax to be figured on top of federal taxes. A friend of mine from the UK recently formed a Delaware corporation, and he's happy with his new company.

It's not that hard to do. Just google "form a US corporation" or "form a Nevada corporation" and you'll see lots of listings. Or PM me and I'll let you know the people I used. Yep, I'm still with them, ten years later.

Cheers from warm and smiling Thailand,

If you want an US Address that's very easy to do, just google for Mailboxes or Office Address etc. But forming a LLC from the UK into the US isn't very advisable. Try Isle of Man or Jersey!

Hi Fred. I've been thinking about this recently. I want to set up an online store but want US customers. I'm advised that the best state to set this up in is Delaware. You will pay the local sales tax rate. Google this, there are loads of companies who will set this up for you. Good luck.

Why all the insistence on PMs?

Why not freely share the information for all Warriors in the open on thread? That way it will be available to anyone else searching for the info.

Why would you want to do this? If you want an address, just search for virtual office on Google. But setting up a ocmpany in the US is a real hassle and doesnt really give you any more benefits than you could have in the UK.

Sometimes the advantages you get may far outweigh the hassles. Depends on how high you are aiming.

There is a whole industry that covers this in Las Vegas. Search Las Vegas Virtual Office or something to that regard. People use it because of NV tax breaks etc.

I'm doing business from Ontario just find without virtual office tho for IMing.

I have no agenda but to help those in the same situation. This I feel will pay the bills.
