My First Info Product

Hi All,

I finally completed my first IM project ever and I am very proud of it. It is an info product. A 7 step ecourse. I am starting to get sells slowly, but really am having a tough time promoting it. I have submitted some forum posts, some articles (4), and have a pretty good affiliate helping me promote it.

I am still new to IM and I havent even done any affiliate marketing or anything I just learned with Warrior Forum and then created the product and everything.

Here is the link to my baby:

But before repeating I suggest a little more promotion (but don't spend more than a week at this) - articles, a few backlinks, and a good affiliate center.

Very nice site - couple of things:

#1 - You obviously have the skills to take to make it in IM

#2 - It is obvious that you have spent a lot of time on the site (and I am assuming the product as well). Now, I do not know much about the market you are in (how big it is, number of monthly searches, etc) but irrigardless - do not put all your "eggs" in 1 basket. The site is up and running - do daily promotion for it - but now is the time to start building more sites.

there are few niches that will make a ton of sales per month - for most niches I am happy to get 2 - 3 sales per week. The power comes when you have 10+ sites running and nice lists you can market too.

    Which leads me to #3-

#3 - You need to add an opt-in box to your home page. Unless your niche is the rare exception most people will not buy a product immidiately - also, you do not want people coming to your site and then just leaving without at least getting their email address.

Set up a mini course or other information you can follow up with prospects with - this is essential for your long term success. That list eventually will make you an extra $100 - $500 per month once you get enough names.

Finally - to get a pure sales page site like this ranked high is pretty tough at least on google. Google likes content based sites so you are going to have to figure out how you are going to get enough traffic to meet your sales goals.

    Hope this helps

I can honestly say I've never seen a product like this before. Great niche idea.

I would look into websites where high school and college basketball players are hanging out.

Also, you might do well with Facebook or Twitter with this product. You could start reaching out to different basketball groups and just start talking about the opportunity to play professionally abroad, see the world, and have less competition than here in the states.

Congratulations on getting your sales page up and promoting it!

I would suggest you get as many joint venture partnerships as possible. There are many on warrior forums. I'd also suggest that you tell your friends that they can make money as affiliates selling your product. Word of mouth spreads fast!

WOW, thanks everyone so much for your posts. I am going to take all of your advice 100%. This is a super small market, but have made about 10 sales in 2 months, but most were from affiliates. I am going to try and get another JV. I hope I can report back with good news.

Well done - as they say if you can make 1 sale you can make many more...

    Here are a few suggestions...

Sounds like an ideal topic for a press release.
Find blogs in your niche and comment on them (or start your own blog)

You need a freebie to give away - a taste of what's to come to prove you know what you're doing - this will help you build a list of interested people.

Perhaps your first 1 or even 2 videos can be free or one of your existing bonuses
Set up a twitter account to offer your freebie. Search twitter for basketball and follow them and they'll follow you back

    Good luck and keep going!

      Great job.

I would find all the basketball blogs I could and offer up a guest blog post with your story. Sounds like something people would be interested in reading.

Dude! 10 sales in 2 months is an awesome start for such a tiny niche!

My advice: Put those one time offers AFTER they pay!!! You're putting too many barriers in between the sales page and the checkout. Once they've paid for your product and got their wallet out, THEN hit them with the offers

Also that video is sweet, throw it out on tube mogul and get some exposure.

Seriously top stuff man. keep it up!

Search for Eben Pagan and learn some of his free stuff. If you can afford, buy some of his products. He is the ultimate Guru for me. I learned a lot from him about info product marketing.

      Auggie, congrats on your product.

Here's a thought. Take your profits and invest that in outsourcing, whether
it's a viral report, articles, blog.... it will be money well spent.

Well done!!! I'm in a similar position to you and looking for loads of advice. With regard to articles, I'm told that 4 is a waste of time. You need to subscribe to/buy a bulk article submitter that will sbmit 100's at a time. Hope this helps!

optin box for special "white paper" on something like the top 10 mistakes that players make when trying to go overseas. Then followup with email tips and hints on what to do and what not to do.

Then suggest the prospect get your course or ebook for the full picture with all the details filled in.

I think you are going to make it :-)

    Hi Augie,

I was going to blow some holes in you for calling this your baby but after reading the site, I can see why you do, it is worthy of being called that and cared for as such...

This is a great infoproduct idea. In fact you've given me the idea to highlight you in my new infoproduct about infoproduct creators that are doing well. See my sig and PM me if interested. Initially this product was about huge success stories, but seeing what you have created here and are so proud of and hard working to promote, I see the potential for motivating and instructing people even better with stories like yours.

You're not wealthy (yet) but I can see that with the right approach you can definitely do well.

You've got ome great advice so far, if you let me do a dissection of your system, I'll trade that for expert advice and even hands on assistance where this is needed. I'd love to skype with you so let me know.

As to your question, I'll give you some ideas right now (a little different from what you've got so far)...

    1. This product may be better promoted offline... basket ballers probably don't spend too much time online, even they do, meet them ON THE COURT where they are more prone to this idea.

    2. Get 100's of coaches worldwide to JV with you.

    3. I haven't seen your videos, but consider turning this into a PHYSICAL product, make it an actual DVD, not only will this likely be more readily received by your market (they appear to me to be more of real worlders than onliners), but you can charge higher and get sales too, though $25 is a fair price, I'm not sure a 3 or more DVD set will not go for higher in this market and sell well too... this is a big market from what I understand and highly ignored.

    4. Get average joes in towns and cities around the world to go down to bball courts in their areas (countries) and promote this stuff using flyers and so on... they make the fliers you just give them the design like the graphics you've used and create ads for them.

    6. Find a way to market this to couch potatoes who love bball on PS2 and the Xbox etc, you may find some of them will be encouraged to get off their butts and actually start really playing lol... the point is there is a HUGE gaming market out there, if you can get your banner ads on sites that sell games especiall bball games you might have some good results, also use your banners to recruit affiliates.

If you don't want to do physical packaging because of the stress of doing so, consider ways you can outsource the whole deal.

Again, well done and whatever you decide to do, I hope you'll keep us posted on your progress.

One more thing, I just have to say this so you don't make the same error next time...

You committed the cardinal sin in infoproduct creation... You should NEVER create a product UNTIL you actually HAVE a READY market (or at least KNOW where to find them easily)... I'm not talking about Product Launch Formulas... that's been done nearly to death especially in IM...

I'm talking about the simple strategy of finding out where your market hangs out and if they will buy such and such and for how much, if possible, yes, get their contact info so that when you do launch you get instant feedback (good and bad) and also sales.

When you get contact info you don't have to use elaborate product launch strategies, just an email from time to time keeping your contacts up-to-the-minute on your progress can have the same or better effect.

If you had done this before creating this fab concept, you won't be sweating bullets right about now.

    Cheers,

    Kunle Olomofe

PS: You want affiliates to promote you easily so add a link to an affiliates' page to your letter.
PPS: Consider adding a personal touch to your letter for credibility (add your real name or creator's pseudo name if you want to remain anonymous. Nameless letters can hurt sales.)
