Here is a question just out of curiousity. How would you compare squidoo with hub pages. They seem to be quite similar to each other but have their own unique differences. I have tried both, but thought I would check and see what your thoughts are about the two. Also, just out of curiousity, which one do you like more? Thought that I would ask.
#hub #pages #squidoo #squidoo vs hub pages

Squidoo is a big fat pain in the butt with all their rules these days. They might as well have a list of what they DO allow, because it would be shorter than the list of stuff they don't! Haha.

I've only started using HubPages and Squidoo in the last couple of days, cranking out content to complement and promote my blog. I'm finding HubPages to be the more user friendly of the two. Squidoo has been a bit of a pain in the backside to format - too many clicks when your text is broken up into chunks like mine is.

I use both, but prefer HubPages because they generally rank better for me.

If you're using it as a link building method, I don't think squidoo is any use as they use redirects

It's not a case of one against the other for me. I use both. They each have their idiosyncrasies and rules but at they same time they also offer benefits which, in combination, make for better rankings for my websites.

What do you need to do after you have created a hub or squidoo to get it to rank?? Any tips would be really appreciated as I would like to try both particular hub pages. I would look to link hub to my main website and I presume this will help my website in terms of backlinks aswell.

      Many thanks.

        First, I use both.
I prefer Squidoo. I think,(the "squidoo slap" notwithstanding, it's easier to use.
And, Hubpages is way too picky about what they perceive to be overly promotional..

Here's the linking structure Iuse for each KW.

Then, repeat the process promoting the first set of sites.
        Promote the promoters.

Now, if you really want to get serious...

Adjust the Squidoo "Money Site" and affiliate Vendor's page according to your preference.

Truthfully, this is too much work for one person.
But, that's why God gave us outsourcing and software.

        Gotta shut down down.

        Way too much lightning!

I prefer hubpages. Easy to use and set up adsense, amazon and ebay. And I like the layout.

I've brought these guys up so much that I know i'll probably get blamed for being paid to promote or something....lol

but....Info Barrel is, IMHO, currently, the BEST website to submit content to nowadays....

Not only are they gaining tremendous search engine authority, but they ALSO offer 75-90% Adsense/ Amazon/ Chitika Revenue Share....

    Look at this chart:

Look at their Growth, according to quantcast:

I personally use both and have found that they generally perform pretty evenly. Both bring in traffic regularly and sales occaisionally. So as others have said, no harm in using both!

Squidoo has become very picky about the types of topics they will accept. Hubpages are a little more lenient at this point in time.

    I've used both sites....

The do have ALOT of pre-packaged search engine authority, but there are 'other' emerging sites that do address some of HubPages and Squidoo's limitations VERY well (and are growing very quickly, for that reason)

If you are interested in the revenue share aspects of their websites, there are other websites that blow HubPages 60% and Squidoo's 50% (tiered) payment structures, out of the water.....

    AND....also incur great IM benefit....

I like both Squidoo and Hub Pages. I haven't been as committed to them as I need to being an Internet Marketer. But your post has inspired me to get back into using the "squidoo marketing" method.

I use squidoo rather than hubpages because hubpages is little bit choosy in content than squidoo.
