PLR on your computer?

If you are like me you have hundreds if not thousands of plr articles and ebooks on your computer. I am curious if anyone has found a piece of software that will search and list all of the material you have in a usable format? I have done a couple of searches on the forum and not found anything that appears related to this topic. I also did a search in google and found one or two items that seemed like they might help but.................

If you already have the files scattered all over your hard drive, I recommend this: DLRoundup Info Letter - DLRoundup wso.

It will go through your whole drive and find all those files. After it has gathered them, you can go in and update it with all sorts of details about those files.

Works fast, too. Once you have it, you can easily set up so that when you download in the future, it has all the details already.

I keep all of my plr content in one folder with subfolders as to topic. Never have a problem finding what I am after that way.

I do the same as winebuddy above. Then, when I want a specific article topic, I just do a search within the PLR folder using some related keywords and it works very well to find whether I've got articles in that topic or not.

Over the years I have accumulated a lot of zipped files with large amounts of plr in them that I use as rough drafts for other articles. I just kept putting them on my external drive and am now trying to organize into one file with several subfiles. Lots of work.

    Hi Dave,

I'm preparing a demo of a new version of a Windows product I believe addresses your needs.

To download and install it may take about a minute or two. Then, just click a button and sit back and watch as it finds and catalogs the .pdf and .zip files on your C drive (which it is set up to do by default).

To include your external drive in the processing, just add it to the search list and do another search. To include other file types in the processing, such as .doc or .txt or .rtf or .odt or .html or .xls, just add them to the search list. To indicate which rights a file has (PLR, MRR, etc.) is very easy, too.

I'll post a link when the demo is ready, probably later today.

Here is the link to get the demo: Demo dlRoundup 2.0b

(BTW, The reason for the opt-in is not so I can send you special offers from my good friends that may or may not be available for much longer. It is because I'm creating some tips on how to more fully utilize the software, which I may periodically send to you and to other new users).

The demo will expire next weekend. For a quick heads-up on what initially to expect, see

DLRoundup - Documentation and click on Quick Start (these docs are still from version 1.2... I'm working on updating them before the program goes into regular production).

And, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I look forward to hearing if this does what you need.

Buy a MAC and use the built-in Spotlight indexer

Seriously though, if you have a PC w/ Winblows on it, you should be able to use the Windows Desktop Search application available here: Windows Search

To avoid these circumstances you can create one directory named as PLR and put your all plr articles at there only. Then no need to search anywhere just go there and find out one.

Sounds like a good idea for any new PLR I download from here on out, but what about existing PLR on my computer that I have no idea what I have and totally forgotten about? Is there a way to organize and delete any duplicates also? My hard drive is almost to full capacity and I have to do something quick before a crash.

      Thanks,

Well if you remember you can search by text inside the file and if you find duplicate files you can delete from one location.

Tell me if it works for you.

That would seem to be such a monumental task considering the tons of PLR scattered all over my computer. I downloaded so much thinking one day I'll organize everything - NOT!
Also how to figure out what rights I have to what PLR packages, my head is already spinning!

Well.........like if you want to search all PLR articles on "IM" niche. You have placed your IM articles at two different places in your computer. So you can type IM in search text box and you'll get a list of articles then you need to get a look which articles are duplicate. This is the only way that I know.

I don't know if any software can help you out in an easy manner.

Yeah that sounds doable to weed out obvious duplicates and I'll give it a go cuz I gotta do something. It's trying to figure what rights I have to the PLR articles that will give me fits.

Just a quick question, Is there anyone reading this thread that makes money from PLR? If so, how?

    eBay?
    Clickbank?
    Your own site?
    Other?

I think the key to this is just coming up with a way to organize it that makes sense to you. There's been some helpful ideas so far: keeping everything in a centralized location and organizing into topics.

You would probably benefit greatly by just taking a few hours one day and going through all your files and organize it to your liking. Then when you download new things you already have your structure laid out so you can just organize as you go.

I did this recently and now it's so much easier to find something on a certain topic I am looking for. I highly recommend it =D

I agree with Tyson. You need to come up with a way to organize the files that will make sense to 'you'. I follow a similar approach to lisag but one problem I always had with that method is the overlapping of categories. Often times you'll find that a particular product will fit into multiple categories. I personally duplicate the files to put into different categories sometimes which is admittedly not the best way but it works best for me without the use of software (not that one exists as to my knowledge).
