Fraudelent Clicks - Need Advice Please

I really need help or advice with this please.

Somebody has set up a bot to click on a set of adsense ads on one of my sites.

The clicks are currently at 3300 when i would normaly only have around 60-90 clicks a day on it.

I have informed google and got an automated reply back saying they will monitor my acount and i will probably not recieve any further replies..

What has happened though is since this started happening around 12 hours ago my adsense earnings have not gone up at all hardly. or they have gone up then down then up a bit then down an i have made around $2 where it should have been more like $60

This hasn't just affected this one adsense unit/channel but all the ads on that site and all my other sites.

Will google correct this or have i lost my days earnings?

Also will it be ok tomorow?

The person who has set the bot up seems to have gone to bed now and given up for the night 3300 clicks later.

I have also replaced that adsense unit with random ads that look similar to adsense so if he does carry on clicking he will just be clicking through to them.

I dont know what to do or what will happen.

Can somebody please advise

    no got no idea.

Im hoping they will correct it because i am presuming all the clicks must have come from the same ip address or it would take a hell of a lot of proxies to make 3300 clicks so i would have thought they would be able to destinguish them quite easily.

Am i right in presuming that.

    Thank you for the reply.

Ye could be but whats the point.

The only thing they would achieve is getting me banned from google adsense when there are alternatives.

I dont think il get banned, or im hoping i wont as its not my fault and beyond my control.

Anyone else got any opinions on what will happen please.

Has anybody else had this happen to them and if so what happened?

    Thank you.

up to now today i have had 60 clicks but only $1.23 is showing in my adsense and my earnings did not go up yesterday after all this happened.

Will google rectify this or am i better just taking all adsense ads off my site for now.

It sounds like you're still getting some fishy activity, so I'd recommend removing your Adsense ads until it all gets sorted. That way Google can see you're making a good faith attempt at helping them curb click fraud.

      Good luck!

PS: Have you checked your traffic stats for yesterday. Is there a chance that one of your pages got "stumbled" and created the increase in traffic. I've had that happen and received a lot of extra clicks with very little revenue. I believe that Google has a filter in place for this kind of traffic that rarely converts to sales for their advertisers, so you end up getting paid diddly for the clicks. It's not really fraud that way, but they do factor in click quality for their pricing to advertisers, and as a result you'll get a lower EPC too.

    Thanks for the reply

No it defiantely wasn't because i got stimbled or digged or anything.

My page views and stats were all what i would have expected and there was no unusual activity that i could find on my logs.

I have removed the ad unit that was being targeted and all the clicks i have recieved today i believe to be genuine as it is all what i would normaly recieve but my earnings are just not going up.

Do you think i should contact google again.

Again thanks for your reply and thank you in advance to anyone else who can give me any advice.

You did the right thing by contacting google directly. I would ask google to monitor my adsense clicks and request a more detailed explanation.

I have not been in that unfortunate situation but your hosting provider MAY be able to block their IP address if it's the same one. Just a suggestion.

Iv had 126 clicks up to now and only $2.66

    Google wont answer to me.

    All these are genuine clicks.

    Will they correct it?

Right i have caught the little idiot.

The person had set up a apparently blank page with just the word test on it with my google adsense pub- in the source code but its like no google code i have ever seen before.

    What can i do now.

I have taken a screenshot of the blank page and copied the source code which i am going to email google now but is there anything else i can do.

The only reason i found it is because a member of his site clocked on and kindly tipped me off.

The fact of the matter is that Google will KNOW if you clicked on the ads or somone else did it.

They may also think that you asked someone else that you know to do this so hopefully they won't penalize you.

Let us know how it goes.

Oh i never clicked on them. Adsense has become to be one of my main source of incomes so i wouldn't abuse it.

I also reported it as soon as i realised which was pretty quick so i would hope that google see's that.

I wouldn't ask someone to do it then report it.

Thanks for the reply though and i will keep you updated.
