What have you done to make it succeed?

Hey warriors,

My internet business is my second business. I have a vending business that I have had now for over 6 years. I am at 90% automation which is cool because all I do now is count money and take it to the bank

It never started like that though....

It took a lot of work, calculated risk and time. I think that a lot of people think they are just going to start a business either online or offline and....presto...it all of the sudden works. I can be sometimes a long and difficult road to make it.

I am not saying by any means that I have made it. I would like to think that I am on my way but in my eyes I have just started in business.

I would like to see what some of you other warriors have had to do to make your businesses work, be it offline or online. I'll go first.

1. The very nature of starting a vending business is all about capital. In 2008 I spent $50, 000 in upgrades/expansion. At the height of my borrowing I owed 5 individual people money, including my wife. In addition to personal loans I also owed the bank money on 3 different lines of credit.

2. I had to get a job to support the debt payments plus give myself a life while building. At one point I was mopping floors to make ends meet.

3. So far I have worked over 6 years in the vending business without taking any money....it all goes back to debt payment, expansion etc.

4. I have read over 60 books in personal finance and business.

5. Lost weekends, evenings and not too many "happy hours"

6. Live with tenants in our basement to help pay the mortgage. This is not ideal since there is no insulation in between the floors lol. You can hear EVERYTHING!!! lol. Yes everything.

7. Endless network meetings, strategic alliance meetings and relationship building events.

8. Spent 10 grand on the online business and have not made a profit yet.

9. Weekly meetings at my home with my online team to help coach and teach. Often on luch hour or in the evening or on weekends.

I'm not saying that this is what has to happen, or that I am anything special. I am simply showing that usually when you see a successful person they have a story of years of hard work and sacrifice to make it work.

Consider that next time you see a wealthy person. Ask yourself, what did he have to do and for how long to get to where he is? You may be surprised to find that it is not all peachy keen at the beginning.

What are some of the sacrifices that you had to make to get to where you are? I would love to know

Cheers!

Brandon

In some businesses it takes cash to create the revenue. Be it your own or borrowed.

I didn't say that I had a problem Just that business takes work.
