Submitted my Articles, now what?

OK, so I was wondering, after you have submitted articles to whatever directory you've chosen, what do you do with them then? Should I be making back links to the articles? If so, what are some ways you might go about doing this?

I am just wondering as I have a few articles submitted right now and they just don't get a lot of traffic. Obviously a few articles isn't enough, but I was just wondering is the point to have a ton of articles with a few views that add up to a lot or is there a better way to go about this?

    Lot of article directories have add to bookmarks or share this buttons, that would be the easiest way to get some more views to the article.

    In my experience approximately one out of ten will be gems. after you have about 100 articles, you'll be able to see what works and what doesn't then just duplicate what works.

    However, I should admit that I've never tried to backlink or promote my articles in anyway. I just do the best keyword research that I can.
