If you wanted a voiceover for your website, what would you pay?

  • Really depends on a whole heck of a lot of factors... length, quality, female/male, etc, etc. Are they doing the scripting, or reading a prepared script, etc, etc?

If it was a straight script I was having someone read, probably not more than $5. If there was a video being created, with tutorial, etc, etc, obviously that would be of more value, and it would really depend.

5 Bucks....what world do you live in? Most professional voice over talent starts at around $150 an hour, there are a few guys here on the forum that run specials and you can get for $25 min, anything off the forum is gonna cost a lot more. Good Luck...

      5 Bucks.........sheeez

It really depends. I've done voice overs before for people (Americans love the Australian Accent) and depending on the size of the job depends on the fee.

I'm not a professional as such. And you don't always need to get a professional voice over person. Just someone you think speaks well and clearly.

I've also used colleagues - and you work out a deal that suits you both.

It might be that they do it and also get to be an Affiliate of your product - I've had someone interview me for one of my niches, and that was the deal I made with them.

It might be a 'love' job between you as you frequently scratch each others backs. ;-)

Or you might want the professional voice over person (I can recommend a lovely professional UK voice over person in our community).

I do think there are many ways you can approach this. I have never heard of $5 though. I wouldn't open my mouth for less than $150 myself if I was being recorded (30-60mins).

    Caro :-)

    Cat have your tongue ?

Now with my hillbilly drawl it would cost more than $5 just to get me to shut up

I bet you couldn't get the dude that does all the movie trailers to record a fart for less than $10,000 .

I don't know about a fart but he sure would stink right now.....that is if you dug him up. Don LaFontaine died about 18 months ago

$49 for 3 minutes 30 seconds was the latest I paid for a voice-over. I do give them a lot of work so I do get a good deal.

Forget $5. That doesn't exist anywhere. My dog wouldn't bark for $5.

For a good delivery and a mood that matches the niche I need these for, anything around $15-20 a minute, I consider a good deal.

Don't forget, people that do these rarely get them right the first time, so it's not as simple as paying for a minute of their time.

I've paid around $15 to $25 per minute for good voice overs. Don't use those services very often but I think I've always got a pretty good rate.

I wouldn't hire someone cheaper and probably wouldn't even want to invest my time in trying them out...even if it was free.

Well.........it is not any particular thing you can say $5 or $15 but I think it depends lots of factors. You should first consider on yourself what exactly you are looking for?

I think you should any full time freelancer to do this work, it would be cheaper for you.

Professional Voiceovers are quiet expensive. I figure this project wouldnt require a professional to "read" it in a special voice in more than an hour, but be prepared to pay at least $100 - $300 for it. Quality has its price
