And another quick question on SEO and linking...

Let's say I have a domain of www.goodbaseball.com.

I create a baseball site, but instead of hosting it as a discrete site, I stick it inside a bigger site called www.biggersite.com.

I redirect www.goodbaseball.com to www.biggersite.com/baseball.

My gut feel is that Google won't like this, but that's just a hunch. Does anyone have any info on the impact of doing this?

Thanx. - Russ

    Is goodbaseball an existing site?

If it is an existing site then redirecting will eventually force Google to drop the domain from their index and replace it with the new url at biggersite.com/baseball. It should also pass on the page rank to the new URL.

Make sure to use a 301 redirect for this as its the most search engine friendly.

If its a new domain you won't get any value from it at all really.

    Hope this helps

No, goodbaseball would be a new site. Just to save money, "hosting" it under an existing site. I wouldn't expect any SEO benefit from this, but would Google penalize me you think?

You wont be penalized by Google for this but there isn't any need to buy a new domain if you're going to do it this way.

If you have a hosting account that allows multiple sites ideally it won't cost you any more.

    Hope this helps
