Great Domain Names Are Still Available

Hi folks

Well I wish the sellers of domain names on the forum all the best of course.

Now Warriors, just one small example of the fact that with research, that I and my people spend a great deal of our time doing you can still get great domains for a song.

In case the moderators think I am just doing this to advertise I will not give the example of a great domain name I picked up last week for just $10 and although I view sites that value what domains are worth with the same questioning way as I view everything on the Internet this one was given a value of $600+

I only have some of the sales copy I am working on at the moment on this site but of course the domain name is a great one. It is only two words the first of which is sex and it is a .com

I bought it just a short while ago and Hm, and I think I paid around $10

I totally agree. I bought an awesome domain yesterday and then proceeded to scoop up the .info as well.

      Well done for that.

And I just realised there are no sales links on the site, just my sales copy.

        Hi!
the next time you're going to register a domain make sure you use some coupons.I mean just do a google search for this:

        "godaddy coupons"

You'll save $3 dollars every time you register a domain name.

        all the best,
        Cesar Galano.

NameCheap in combination with NameCheapCoupon.com is a great option too.

Finding out that a perfect domain is still available is always so epic.

Of course there are great names out there, a lot of people still don't know what they should be looking for but in estibots case just as an example, I ignore the dollar appraisal values...much more important are the SERPs and search values

To be honest i hate picking domain names... its taken me 3 hours to find an available domain name with the word 'article' in it.

Just picked it up now but the .cm is taken with nothing on it for some reason!

Plus what i hate even more if people who buy domains and leave them with either nothing on them at all or just put up a homepage that is worthless (i.e. their name)!

It's soo hard to buy them of those people too especially when they leave no contact info/nor whois

I have found 4 perfect domains for my IM site and yet all are just like that... damn noobs or people who don't take action!

Indeed, godaddy do have that right in that respect, paying people pay rent for parking domains...maybe it is something others should do to discourage it lol

Keep looking Mike! There are still some out there.

I picked up three last week with the word 'article' in them. (Hope they weren't the ones you wanted )

Tip: try the domain with 'articles' (plural)

You can also make up something corny like google.com or loopypoopy.com or something else that people would remember.

    Cheers,

While on the topic, do you guys have any easy way to find available names?

Look on your desk, you probably have loads of crap on it if you are anything like me, simply pick one and type it into google adwords and then add all those and save them to a text file, and then copy that whole list and paste it into godaddy bulk register by going to godaddy > domains > Bulk Domain Name Registration

When you have a list simply click search and it will remove all the other ones already taken...lets try it with, "remote".

It takes out a whole list of domains already registered and this is what we get left with:

    BUSHTVREMOTE.COM
    ENABLEREMOTE.COM
    GEMINIREMOTE.COM
    GITREMOTE.COM
    HIFIREMOTECONTROLS.COM
    MATSUIREMOTE.COM
    MEDIACENTREREMOTE.COM
    ONEFORALLTVREMOTE.COM
    ONE4ALLREMOTE.COM
    PANASONICTVREMOTE.COM
    PHILIPSMAGNAVOXREMOTE.COM
    PHILIPSSRU1010.COM
    PHILIPSSRU5150.COM
    PHILIPSSRU8008.COM
    PHILIPSSRU8015.COM
    PHILIPSTVREMOTE.COM
    REMOTECODESFORTV.COM
    REMOTECONTROLSFORTV.COM
    REMOTEDOS.COM
    REMOTEINFRARED.COM
    REMOTELITE.COM
    REMOTETELEVISION.COM
    SAMSUNGREMOTECLIENT.COM
    SAMSUNGREMOTECODES.COM
    SAMSUNGTVREMOTE.COM
    SPAREREMOTECONTROLS.COM
    USINGREMOTE.COM
    WINDOWSMEDIACENTERREMOTE.COM

Now, obviously we want to avoid something that is trademarked but if we look at "REMOTECONTROLSFORTV.COM" we can see it has 3600 broad searches and 720 exact, simples [This domain name has since been snatched up but you can see the methodology]

This method can be used for pretty much absolutely everything, even if it takes out 95% of domains that are already taken you will generally get 4-5 that are free for you to take, you just have to figure out if people are actually searching for it or if it is a dud :p

I find it brilliant for getting maybe 500 names that would take 12 hours to sift through to about 12 minutes where you can see exactly what you are working with and maybe 1 or 2 good names in the whole lot, and this works for every conceivable item, and even with applications you wouldn't even dream of sometimes

If I want to do it with more names I simply go go to google adwords and search Diets, get the list, pick a word from that which is related, search that, then again and soon I end up with 2000+ terms

Put that into godaddy a few times and I end up with a nice little list of 200-300 domains maybe, all of which are available

99% true - there are great domains unregistered, up for grabs.

I use makewords to scout for possible domains; pcnames / who.is to check if all extensions are available.

On the other hand, if you're looking for a 4 letter dot com or a dictionary word (single word) - it's back to the domain sellers.

Not to mention that sometimes, you can get great bargains from domain sales; I picked up a batch of over 10 names at a total of $16; kept the two I wanted and flipped the rest for more than I'd bought the original set..

When searching for domain names, I always check the whois to see when the taken ones expire, and if there's actually a site there. If there's not a site, and the domain is coming up on expiration, I place a backorder. I've scored quite a few sweet domain names that way. Backorders at GoDaddy are reusable if you don't get the domain. All you have to do is change the domain name on the backorder.

Checking the expired domains at WhoIs is another way to find good domain names. It takes some effort to sort through the idiotic domains, but I've picked up some good ones this way.

      I know this exact feeling!

Earlier this year I was wanting to move into the dating niche, and spent weeks trying to find/buy the perfect name for my business.

Eventually I found one which was NOT registered which is truly perfect, and it was free. Definitely felt like a find of a century.

Well over a million domains expire every single month. Many fantastic domains are among these expired/expiring domains. There is almost an endless supply as domains go though the cycle of people registering them for a year and dropping them. Sometimes great domains get dropped due to neglect, sometimes they have too many and can't afford the renewal fees, sometimes businesses close, sometimes people die without giving the info to their survivors.
