My web host is down and I'm pretty worried about all my sites. I have like 5 sites on there and even the web host's site is down. Don't know what to do now... should i just wait another day?

I didn't do any backups either this sucks...

Yes I know it's dumb not to do backups and yes I am losing money from this!

The reason I stayed with this host is because they offered the account for free and so I've been with them for many years... nothing bad has ever happened, just small things here and there, plus being that it's free.

It's been down for half a day now.. maybe more.. I woke up and it was down so who knows.

I will be changing hosts but I just hope they come back up so I can make backups of my sites.

The company I'm with is Vonetwork.net

Unfortunately, this is where you begin to realize the true cost of "free".

Since this is a free host, one thing you can do is pray that the server will be up again.

And if this happens, get a paid hosting... straight away.

Hopefully you'll be back online soon. When you are, please
do yourself a favor and backup all your webpages. Although
it's a drag, it beats reconstructing all your web content. If
you just can't get around to it, at least print your pages so
that you'll have something to work with.

It's up! Phew! I was getting so worried there... I'll be moving to new host now. I was considering moving to pay for a while just for my own piece of mind, but you know, you get caught up with other things, now is a good time to move I think

Moving might be a good idea - but almost all hosts have a problem or downtime at some point. Even huge sites have downtime and it is to be expected on occasion. A few hours is not that big a deal if you've been wit them for some time with no other problems.

Before looking for a new host - back up the sites!

Not only should you avoid free hosts but you should consider spreading your sites over more than one hosting provider.
