Oh NO! Just Another Recession/Depression Post. No not at all.
Hi All,
With all the "talk" about whether we are in a recession or depression or getting close to it I decided to do some research over the past few days.
I started with the assumption that some people just kept on living normal lives during the great depression. I started from this point of view because of family stories I've heard all my life about my mother growing up during the depression era not knowing there was a depression.
My Grandfather had a gas station and did very well. I always assumed that it was because people needed gas. That may very well be the truth in my Grandfather's case, however, I found another common thread that ran through others' situations who made it during the depression.
Yes, people who supplied needs did make it however.....
I read, over the past few days that the businesses who really did well during the great depression were ones that continued to...
It's looks like, based on more than one source that it wasn't so much providing needed goods and services that caused some to thrive during the depression rather those who advertised a LOT no matter what they were selling did well.
IF, and I realize that this is a big IF, that is true, wouldn't it make sense to position oneself as an Internet advertising service?
Just a thought. Of course the whole premise above might be false.
Any thoughts on this?
