Does anyone know how YouTubes to monetize youtube vids?

I keep hearing how youtube shares revenue from purchases made when advertisments are placed next to someones video. I cant find out where to find out more info???

Can someone point me to where the program is explained and you can sign up for it?

    Last time I checked, which was several months ago, that in order to get ads showing for revenue sharing in your account you have to apply for the YouTube partner program.

    So you might want to try running a search on YouTube for a similar term.
