I just found this COOL feature in Google Docs

I was using Google Docs to make a presentation and I was going to insert a picture, but when I clicked on the "Insert" Tab, I noticed an option for Video.
I thought it would direct me to choose a video on my hard drive, but much to my delight, it opened a new window, used the title of the slide and gave me the option to 'search videos' and then 'select video' and it automatically inserted it for me.

I now have a video, in a presentation that is easily sharable too!

Ironically enough, I was making the presentation for a video on how to use Google docs. Learn something new every day.

Google docs are pretty 'Plain Jane' but they are so easy to use and the sharing features give me so many organizational ideas without any 'information overload.'

      Well, I just tested it.

First, Google Docs will save it as a pdf for you

Second, if you 'download it' and try to view it from your own computer using Adobe viewer, it does work, and the videos still play. But it seems that you must use Adobe to view the pdf and have the videos play from within.

*I had a friend check it who does not use Adobe and all she could see were links to the videos.

Third, if you just share the link to the Google Doc presentation, and your viewer views it IN Google Docs, they will be able to play the videos from within the presentation as well.

Finally, I already checked to see if you could insert video into a Google Text doc and there does not appear to be an option to do that. You can't put videos in spreadsheets either, but you can Insert> some cool> Gadgets.

I really love Google docs. Many people use it now and they don't even know that they are already a part of cloud computing. Google Rocks!

Recently they launched the any file upload feature which is pretty cool!

Storage is becoming cheap and bandwidth is increasing constantly. I hope Google launches something as Google Backup someday which will backup our whole computer for free!

I generally use my hosting to back up my hard drive.

I wish Google Docs had a mindmapping feature and a WYSIWYG html editor. And an app that would take any program I have on my hard drive and convert it to a web based app, would be the end all for organization.
