How do I password protect a page?

Simple question I'm sure - I've password protected directories before but not sure how to do this for a page on my site

I'm using the version of freelinkcloaker that I install on my domain and as it stands now anyone can view stats or add a link by going to www.mydomain.com/newcloak.php

Any advice would be great

Thanks!

You can always use .htaccess and .htpasswd method for basic authentication. If you know how to do it for a folder then just move that file to a folder.

IF you are using cpanel, just o into it and click on "password protect directories" you can then set up htpasswd in about 30 seconds. Also add anything you want hidden to a noindex robots.txt

    I use this script:

:: Web Page Password Protect :: Free PHP Scripts

It's easy and I've never had any problems using it.

I've used it for about 3 years now.
