Question about add-on domains

Hey warriors. I hope you all are doing fine. Well i got a question. When creating a addon domain in the hostgator cpanel, there's this part where it will automatically create the subdomain/ftp username. I was wondering if i could remove the subdomain after i complete creating my addon domain. Can i do that? Will it cause a problem if i remove the subdomain?

    There's really no reason to remove it...it's not hurting anything. Having said that, I have no idea if it will hurt anything to remove it because I've always just left mine there.

      I'm with Lisa - leave it be - it's doing no harm by being there.

      I'm sorry that I don't know enough to clearly answer your question about the impact of removing it. I'm not sure whether the subdomain just gives us an additional way of accessing it, or whether the creation of the addon domain requires and is dependent somehow upon the subdomain (and I haven't wanted to risk finding out).

      If you don't get a definitive answer in this thread, get in touch with your hosting company.
