Can I Do This in a WP Post?

I don't know what this is called, so I'll give you a visual.

WP Forums

If you scroll down that page a few posts, you'll see code that's embedded into a box with a scroll bar across the bottom.

Could someone please tell me what that function is the called, and if I can add one of them to a WP post?

Even if you just know the proper name, that should be enough. I'm fairly facile with this stuff, and I do know how to use Google! It's just a little tough when I don't know the proper terminology of what I'm searching for.

Thanks!

I think that is just code wrapping.

I believe it is an option in the visual editor or possibly html.

    maybe the function called "code"

It's simple enough to do, just wrap what you want in the box in code tags - <code> </code> You'll have to do this in your html editor though, because it doesn't work in visual mode.

You mean posting code in a post without being executed?

There are many plugins that will do that:

Presently in my blog I use Highlight Source Pro

      Thanks everyone!

And Istvan, yes. I want something that won't execute the code. I'll take a look at those plugins.

Edited to Add: Istvan, Highlight Source Pro does exactly what I want! Thank you!
