I have a blog, can't post URLs yet so email me for it if its needed, and I was looking to hire some help to get the blog up and running properly. It is listing Google, but not being picked up by bloglines, google blogs, etc. It is new, and wordpress, but I was just curious if I can land some help with this guy. Thanks.

Start with the basics...update all your settings, your meta tags etc...then install any free WP plug-in that you require such as SEO, WP cache, sitemaps...add some content and start posting, it should be indexed soon after...

Agreed - content is the driving factor for any website, new or established. A good pinging plugin will help, as will the SEO plugins. Be sure that you research your keywords well and optimize the content accordingly.

I have the basic plug-ins running. I am using feedburner which is making things a bit goofy because of the way it handles the feeds, when try to setup at blogline and other places. I publish content at least once a week, usually more often. I guess I am just concerned with why Google isn't picking up the material in its alerts and so on. Just thought there was something big that I was missing is all. The keywords and overall market that I compete in are very small and the amount of SEO effort going on in it is even smaller.

Have you set up the google sitemap plugin? To give it a push post to reddit and digg with your posts. Digg can help get a site indexed.

Sometimes it just takes time, provided your SEO is OK and you've got regular new content it should get there.

    Digg might help too.

It can take a while for the robots to get back to your site and crawl it, then it has to run through the whole behind the scenes magic.

If you start posting daily for a week or two (and then bookmark and ping your entries) you might find that your site gets crawled faster.

I had a site that I posted to an average of 18 times a day for 7 to 10 days and Google started crawling and indexing very frequently.

Now a few months on I post twice per week and the alerts come in very quick.
