I hope your day is just like mine!

Hey folks I was sitting here this morning going about my daily routine and I began to reflect upon where I was this time last year and I wanted to share it with you.
First however I thought I would share what my day is like presently.
I woke up at 7:00 am got our kids up and drove them to school.
I came home and did some house work and laundry until about 9:00am
I spent about an hour talking with my fiancé about taking a trip to Colorado this weekend to shop and what not for our upcoming wedding.
After my girl left to go shopping I walked into my office and logged in to my computer. I first checked my eBay auctions and responded to questions and took care of shipping needs. All total of a half an hour spent.
On a separate computer I began to upload the previous day's dictation through Dragon naturally speaking while on another system I uploaded yesterday's articles to associated content. (Don't make much but I love doing it). 20 mins tops
I logged in to adsense and checked my earnings, slow day but pleased none the less. 5 min total
Checked affiliates for payouts, once again pleased. Another 5 min.
Logged into namecheap purchased 10 domains I had researched the day before. I always buy my domains on Wednesdays and Fridays. 15 min tops.
Answered a few emails 10 min tops.
Spelling and grammar check of dictation. 10 min
A wordpress install on my web host for an offline client. 10 min
Called client for review and follow up appointment. 3 min.
Booked trip for this weekend.
Logged off pc and left the office.
Laid on my sofa and played with my baby Chihuahua and began reflecting on how awesome my life is now compared to what it was a year ago.

Wake up at 5:00am swallow coffee; rush out the door, to get to work on time.
Work until 6:00pm and rush out the door to get to my second job. Work until 10pm come home in hopes my girl would still be up. Peek in on my kids fast asleep and wonder how their day was.
Eat and then bed, wake up and repeat.
I did all of this for just under $50,000 a year. I never saw my children, my relationship suffered and I nearly lost my mind.
Today I spent time with my kids and my girl. I put in a full work day and before noon made just over $900 dollars and today was a slow day. I played with my puppy and took a sec to write this post. At 3:20pm today I will be in front of the school to pick up my kids. I will have time to make a proper meal for my family that we will eat together at the table.
The point I'm trying to make is this, when I first started out working online from home I had more failures than success. I had people constantly tell me it would never work. It took time a whole year to be exact to get this far. My motivation was that I didn't have a choice I had to make this work. Having the time to spend freely with my family is better than anything money can buy.
So if you're at where I was a year ago keep this in mind, I know at times it seems impossible and overwhelming if you stay with it and stay focused and above all learn from your mistakes you will succeed.
Anyway my girl is on her way in the house and I'm going to go spend the rest of the afternoon with her.

And in Canada and in Europe (mainly in the Western side but more and more in the former "second world", too) and probably almost everywhere in the 'civilized developed' countries.

I am old enough to remember how the "futurologists" in the 60s and 70s were wondering what would we do with all that free time in the future when the work week will be only 3 days, LOL!

Lol! I watched "capitalism a love story" last weekend - it sheds some light on why most people have to work ridiculous hours to make ends meet.

Although the film hit on wall street it didn't touch on the biggest swindles of all ... the fractional-reserve banking system and central banks. They are the reason we are working so hard. All those millions the bankers make? They are the fruits of your labour!

I am so happy for you.

I think the worst thing that could happen to any of us is to come to the end of our lives having regrets. And the only regrets we will think are important at that time are the ones that are connected to the people we love. We won't worry so much about whether we missed a promotion at work or could never afford that big boat.

Family first! And IM is a wonderful way to make that happen. Congratulations.

Seo is not my area of expertise. i was very lucky that a friend of mine has a few pr4 websites in a similar niche and has been kind enough to float me traffic and basiclly sponser my site. my biggest two money makers are a paid membership sporting website and of course ebay. I am attempting to create a large blog network of 100 or more sites in the hope that i can sell the entire network in a years time. I also do a lot of offline work with website and hosting packages that I do for people and companies in a 100 mile radius of where i live. with that i also do content management for some of them and that also pays well.
the website in my sig is a little experiment im doing. trying to see what can be done with content seo only on a free host with a few backlinks. nothing serious there just trying things out and testing a few ideas i have picked up here and there.
I am looking into buying established sites in the near future but i am leary as i have been burned a few to many times.
i also do alot of writing and im selling it to AC i average about anywhere in the ball park of $100 to $175 a week doing that. considering doing some writing here but am holding off for a month or two before i post an ad in the wso area so i can finish up a few projects.

with eBay I buy and sell. did the dropshipping thing once and will never consider doing that again. paid a membership fee and the mark up was just to high to profit once you figure in all of eBays fees. not to mention most of the time the items were out of stock. honestly one of the best things i do is occasionally i purchase from liquidation.com and resell on eBay. but you have to be pretty selective about what you buy. there is a lot of junk there but from time to time you can find some diamonds.

I remember one thing I did by accident a few years ago. There was a new Russell Peters DVD that came out in stores. I bought it for a friend of mine for $15.99 I think it was on the same day it was released. My friend already had a copy though which he also bought that same day. So instead of returning my copy to the store, I decided to throw it up on eBay starting at .01 cent.
Within a few hours, there was a horde of bids and ultimately I ended selling the DVD for around $33 to a gentleman in the U.K + about $5 for shipping.
The point of this story? People lap up whatever brand new product or gizmo comes out. That's why eBay selling is still mighty big business.
The auctions which get the most attention are the ones which start at a penny with no reserve.
I remember the Wii Fit making mad sales on eBay a little while ago when it came out.

I was reading through the comments and I wanted to just throw this out there... A lot no Most of my success has come from networking. My business is where it's at because of the contacts I have made. For instance as I stated above I have a dear friend that runs several high ranking websites and if it wasn't for the relationship I developed with him my sites wouldn't have the traffic they do. With my eBay business I depend on repeat customers. Service after the sale is as important as the sale it's self. My advice to those that are just starting out or even those IM vets that are "stuck" Is to find yourself some friends or a mentor. Reach out to people and make contacts share what you know and soak up what you can. IM can be a very lonely business if you don't have someone to lean on from time to time. But by far the most powerful thing I did in my life that ended up changing my life and my business is that I began to surround myself with the kinds of people I wanted to be. I know it sounds cliché but true none the less as I tell my 18 year old son "Positive people create positive people!"
Thank you all again for your kind words. Your positive feedback truly does motivate me.

    Watch ya fella.

It seems to me that life is treating you well at the moment.
Aren't you glad you started your online business?

Before l became an internet Marketer l use to be a self employed carpenter. I did enjoy my job but l hated getting up at 5 am in the morning and not getting home until 7 pm. The other disadvantage of being a self employed carpenter is that l always had to chase people who owed me money.

There are many benefits to starting an online business, including low start-up costs, passive income, and the ability to work at home.
The biggest advantages in owning an online business is that it can be completely liberating. You can create your own schedule allowing for greater flexibility for you and your family.

Good luck to ya kyhell. Hope things carry on going well for ya
