Hey Guys,

Just thought I'd share the 3 things I noticed are in all articles I read.

1. A great title. A title that not only captures the reader and gets them interested, but states exactly what they'll get when they read the article.

2. It's meaty! No "fluff" included. The article expands the title and answers any questions or elaborates on further on the topic at hand.

3. It leaves you with some sort of closure. The conclusion, restates what the topic and how it has touched on the topic. It resolves any unanswered thoughts and makes closing suggestions...suggestions could include further reading, a product, a super offer, a question to think about, etc.

So if an article has these 3 things I don't see how it can suck...yeah there's grammatical errors, but don't we usually excuse that if the article gets its point across??

Good post. Don't how important it is to have a great resource box in each of your articles. Remember that you not only are trying to help people, you are trying to get them to your page.

Quite a few articles on Ezinearticles.com follow this format, along with the articles I've written and had accepted. I value content the most and any title that promises it, but fails to deliver with important details very disappointing.

Oh yes, but of course! For the most part, with some exceptions, the goal of these articles are to get the readers to follow along to your website...kind of like what yahoo answers is beginning to be.

I am not a huge fan of complete closure.

I think that if it all wrapped up too nicely sometimes you wont have the impact on click through rates you want.

Leaving them feeling like they have gained something valuable but without a sense of closure on the bigger picture may encourage them to find out more from your link.

I fully agree. The whole idea of article marketing is not only to give some good info, but to leave the reader absolutely hungry and salivating for more so they will click on your link which will take them to your sales page. This is where they will have their thirst for the information quenched and you will have a sale. Hopefully that is lol.

Agreed. Give them what they want and keep them wanting more.

Nice keeping it short and sweet and leaving the reader hanging is the way to drive visitors. You don't want to give everything away or they have no reason to visit your site to learn more.

    1. Killer headline that builds curiosity, mixed with some benefits.

    2. A technique or mindset that will help reader solve a problem.

    3. Good call to action.

You want the reader wanting more so they click on your page where more info is given to hopefully close the sale.

Yeah I think just providing good info, if the topic is general then they will what to know more, but if they are after something specific then they might not hang around.

I agree, good solid material never hurt anyone, and a good unresistable offer never hurt a marketer

I think the key to what you are saying is right here in these two sentences of yours: a great headline will get your article opened, and possibly read.

I'd say the reason you see #1 in "all articles I read" is because if the headline sucked, then I'll bet you never read the article. It might actually have been a better article than the one you read with a better headline but worse content. But if the headline didn't make you open it up, you never got to find out whether the content was good, did you?

I agree with Ray, I would say even leave out the conclusion, you want to provide good content, but the main objective of an article, typically, is to get someone to take action. If you finalize the article, why click your link.

Have a great resource box that looks like part of the article, but wets the appetite of your reader, enticing them to want to read more.

    Good post though.
