The Article Marketing "Buddy" Method For Newbies - Double Your Marketing Efforts Instantly

Hey Guys.

I'm throwing out this idea for newbies to try if they want. Not saying it's the best idea on the forum, but it may help a few Warriors so I thought I'd share.

First let me tell you two reasons why this method could be beneficial:

1. Double your marketing efforts.
2. Accountability

And I truly believe that these two factors could push some newbies to finally find a little success with their marketing efforts.

The Article Marketing Buddy Method is exactly what it sounds like. You are going to "buddy up" with a fellow Warrior that you respect and trust. Together, you are going to multiply the chances of both of you making profits.

The reason I first thought up this idea was because I saw one mistake that so many newbies were making when it came to article marketing. In their resource boxes, they either included just one link, or they used the same link twice.

To me, that's wasted marketing potential. They could be sending that article traffic to a secondary site and creating an additional (and strong) backlink.

So there's that idea combined with the fact that many people seem to get more done if they are partnering up with someone else. And so this method was born.

The Article Marketing Buddy Method For Newbies:

1. Find a "buddy" to work with. The Warrior Forum is filled with hard-working, creative, and trustworthy individuals. Find someone that you'd truly love work with and ask them if they want to partner up with you in targeting a niche with article marketing (sounds slightly more professional than , "Hey, you wanna be my article buddy?").

I suggest partnering up with someone that takes action and is positive. There's nothing that kills success quicker than laziness and negativity. Whereas the opposite is equally true. This is going to be a long term project so be sure to pick some who takes IM seriously.

2. Choose a niche together. Now, there is the chance that you are both already working on the same niche. If you aren't sure, just ask. Shoot, personally, I am working on about 10-15 different niches, and most people would never guess half of them.

Now if you don't know your "buddy" very well, you may want to pick up a new niche to target. And if you are a newbie, this shouldn't be a problem. You are probably pretty open to targeting any niche, as long as you start to make some dough.

I suggest choosing a high search demand/low competition subniche of a large mega niche like weight loss, insurance, debt, etc. You aren't trying to create your dream moneymaker here. You are just trying to develop your first consistent stream of income by leveraging your article marketing efforts.

3. Create your landing page. You are your partner will create individual landing pages based off the same niche or subniche.

What I suggest: register a domain name and host it on a free web2.0 platform like Blogger.com. If it does well, you can upgrade to paid hosting. If it doesn't, you're only out your domain name fees.

4. Create a special author resource box that you will both use. It's going to be identical. Basically, you develop a sentence that includes an anchor link back to your landing page, and so does your buddy. You will then add these two sentences into one author resource box that you will both use.

So ever time you write and submit an article. You create one backlink for you and one backlink for your buddy. And the same with your buddy.

In essense, if you both write and submit the same number of articles, you are doubling your article marketing efforts.

5. Agree on a minimum amount of weekly articles submitted. This plan, like any plan, doesn't work without action. I would recommend 5 articles per week to start (which means that you will be generating 10 backlinks a week). Don't go crazy and try and do like 30 a week because you will burn out.

You should submit articles to as many directories as you can, but if you are short on time and money, here are the top three article directories that I'd suggest:

6. Make it competitive. Competition can be an amazing motivational tool. Let's say that you and your buddy agree to write and submit a minimum of 5 articles this week.

That's great. But what if you also had a side bet. And whichever one of you wrote and submitted the most articles would get $10 from the other via Paypal. That little side bet will cause the both of you to write and submit many more than 5 articles. I mean, who wants to lose (especially when it's costing 20 bucks).

So at the end of the week, you have 11 articles submitted and your buddy submitted 15.

Did you have a bad week? Sure, you lost $10 to your article marketing buddy but you also gained 26 backlinks to your landing page. Not bad if you ask me.

Can you see how having a buddy could make the difference in your ability to make your first dollars online?

Along with competition, accountability is also very powerful at making people take action.

If you wrote down on a piece of paper that you were going to write 5 articles this week, how likely is it that you will write those articles?

Now, what if you agreed with me that you were going to write 5 articles and that I would do the same, how likely is it that you would write those articles now? It's MUCH, MUCH more likely to happen. It's one thing to let ourselves down. It hurts, for sure. But letting someone else down is much worse.

Well, that's about all that I have. I hope that this method can help of few newbies out.

Good luck guys.

KateD

P.S. I'd love to hear newbie success stories. So if this plan proves to be helpful for you, be sure to send me a PM because I'd love to hear about it.

Yep that would be me... but in my defense I thought it mentioned something about doubling up links and confusing the issue.

Also they said something abour reposting the same exact article on all those sites. But how much different do they have to be exact??

Not sure if this was the right post to ask these questions. Overall, Great idea.

      Hi...

Not sure what you mean by "doubling up links". If you mean using the resource box to send the people to two of your own links, yes, that would be ideal.

But most people lack the motivation to keep writing articles long term and consistently. By having a partner to keep you accountable, you are much more likely to actually write the necessary articles need to see a positive effect.

      Does that make sense?

Like I said, this method isn't for everyone. Shoot, if you can do it all on your own, more power to you. But many newbies need a little extra motivation, especially in the beginning.

That "accountability factor" is huge in terms of motivation. And I think that the lack of true motivation (and I mean motivation enough to actually take action) is what prematurely stops most newbies way before they find success.

      James,

Yeah, I know. I don't consider myself a newbie either. I just wanted to throw out an idea to help newbies take action (which is the #1 reason why they don't make any money).

I thought it would get more positive feedback, especially from newbies. But it does feel good to get a couple pats on the back from some Warriors I admire.

      Much Success,

    Hey Guys....

I was thinking of ways to improve on this "method". Here's an idea that popped into my head just as I was about to fall asleep.

Sharing the resource box is step 1. Here is step 2.

Gather up all of the links to the articles you have written. Your buddy does the same.

Now, you trade lists. (Ie. you get his links and he gets yours).

Then go to Socialmarker.com and register to at least 5 social bookmarking sites. (Socialmarker really helps me save time).

Take your buddy's list of article links and submit them to the top 5 social bookmarking sites (using SM). This will help those articles get indexed faster and possibly generate additional traffic.

You can also do this for the individual pages on your buddy's money site.

The main purpose is to find ways to double up your marketing efforts.

    Much Success,

        Hi...

You don't think that there is anyone else here targeting the "seduction" niche? Well, as someone that provides keyword research services, I can tell you that I know firsthand that there are definitely other Warriors involved in this niche.

But even if you were in a niche that no one else was targeting (or more likely that you don't want to share a niche that you are already involved in), just choose a new niche to target with your buddy.

This is one of the best and most helpful suggestions I've read. Having an 'accountability' partner can keep a person motivated like nothing else.
I especially liked the idea of the side bet too.

hi Kate D, thankyou for this info. It is very inspiring as well as motivation for every newbie out there to get started pumping articles like cash cows

Just a tip, if you want the ability to create your articles faster and increase how many articles you can churn out per hour invest in a tool called "Dragon naturally speaking." This tool will immensely boost your article marketing efforts.

    This is great Kate.

Newbies really need people who will help take them by the hand and help them along the way. This is a nice idea to keep the motivation going and keep the methods moving.

These types of contribution always make me happy.

I'm game. I'm working on two niches right now geared towards the legal industry.

I recently took a voluntary absence from my legal career and I'm using that time to see if I can generate business for other people in my field to work on.

      Regards,

        Hi...

Having knowledge about the legal industry can definitely be used as an asset. I have gotten some articles outsourced in the past for a subniche in the legal industry and they came out horribly. It was very apparent that the author had absolutely no experience in the lega field, and so they were pretty much worthless.

There are a lot of possible subniches with the legal field. I hope someone recognizes this and buddies up with you.

        Best of luck,
