Selling Digital Goods with Multiple Payment Processors and Affiliate Programs

Hi, this thread was inspired by the thread titled...
Clickbank vs. Paydotcom

So in that thread they talk about selling products at both CB AND PDC with separate domains, so I wanted to expand on the idea and see what you think.

Let's say we want to sell a product at example.com. We want to drive traffic there but just want to use PayPal and a simple delivery service so we keep our transaction fees to a minimum.

We would also like to utilize CB, PDC, and C2S (click2sell.eu) to recruit affiliates at each and get our product listed in each marketplace.

Option 1: Use subdomains

While our main site would utilize example.com as mentioned, ClickBank could utilize cb.example.com and PayDotCom would use pdc.example.com, and you get the point.

The problem with this? Affiliates may not like the subdomain idea as customers would probably return to example.com to buy.

Option 2: Use separate domains

We could set up CB with BuyExample.com and PDC with GetExample.com and so on. You could be open with affiliates and tell them exactly what's going on so they don't find out on their own and get upset.

WHY DO ALL THIS?

  1. Get listed in each marketplace and possibly recruit affiliates for each site. Why limit ourselves to just one marketplace/processor?
  2. Affiliates shouldn't mind too much, they still send traffic to their respective domain. (could be wrong though, let me know)
  3. On domain you send traffic to you could let people know that you have other payment processors available, just go to this domain for payment x and that domain for payment y.

Am I missing anything? What do you fellow warriors think?

Get the extra domain seems better. There is nothing wrong with promoting through loads of payment processors.

If i were to try this, i think the 2nd option is better. i can't see anything wrong with this yet.
