I'm on the first page of Google....for real?

About 2 - 3 weeks ago I started with my very first websites (wp sites). I just checked and when I do a Google search for the term "bl*wj*b techniques"...without the asterisks or quotes....I'm finding that my site Bl*wJ*bTechniques.net is showing at the #8 spot on the first page. How can this be? I mean, I'm just having a hard time believing this because I'm still pretty clueless about website building and ranking and such.

I've been trying to follow most advice given around here..frequent, unique content posted, articles submitted to EZA, I'm using OnlyWire.com and Pingler.com on a regular basis. Right now I'm also doing my very first Adwords campaign with my $50 Hostgator credit. Is the Adwords campaign the reason why I'm on the first page? Am I even showing on the first page for anyone else out there?

Btw, even though it is adult in nature, my site isn't a porn site. I want it to be more of a "Cosmo" style site for women....in case you're wondering and too afraid to look

Hahaha well I think it's exactly that. AdWords and organic listings work on different machines =p I'd say your domain name also has a lot to do with it, since it's an exact match.

You're on the right track, keep it up. And you're also very white hat, I enjoy that. Lots of grey hat and spam out there... Including me sometimes, which I'm trying to stop -.-'

PS. Checked out the site, and it's not too bad looking =p I didn't actually read any of the info on there though lol, it's not necessary for me

If you look it up on Scroogle.org, you'll see your "true" position. Sometimes cookies will affect the position of your own sites, so always look them up on Scroogle. (.org, not .com...LOL)

Thanks roxstar. I'm lucky I've been able to figure out white hat so far, let alone trying anything black hat *lol* I understand if the site isn't to your taste, no harm there

Thanks for recommending that site Lisa On Scroogle.org my site is coming up in the 14th position.

I guess I'll just keep doing what I'm doing, even though I'm still not understanding alot of it...just doing it because that's what everyone else is doing. This is more or less my "practice" site.

      Hello Jingles...

Sounds like you're doing fine and doing everything you need to do in order to rank.

SEO doesn't always have to be complicated. I've had websites rank in the top 10 within a week for keywords with 84 million results.

    Hi David,

I am about to start developing my website/blog as well, hence this discussion is also helping me. Though I have read online articles / literature like using exact keywords in your website/blog name, on the webpages, etc help, but these are very open and high level points, any specific tips or pointers you could share to get a new website listed in google would be great.

Just decided on my domain name, now am currently finalising my hosting company. A step closer to start my website development :-)

    Hey Jingles

OnlyWire.com seems to be a good site for pushing updates to all social networking sites with the click of one button - offers bookmarking and sharing as well. Kool.

    Cheers!

It has lot to do with your domain name. You've got a great domain name. I would suggest not to switch to Blackhat and keep building ethical looking backlinks as slowly as possible. You are half way there. Best of luck!

That's pretty normal since it is your domain name...is that something people are searching for? I mean is your site name a popularly searched keyword. Oh I just figured out what it was. Blonde moment. Maybe there is a good amount of traffic for that term?? If not then it doesn't really matter how high you are up on google rankings, be sure to check out where you are coming up for your main keywords, that is where you'll get traffic. Hope that makes sense!

Tomwood - I can't pm, but thank you for trying. I really appreciate that

If there is one thing I do know, it's how to pick a good domain name. I've been "domaining" for the last 2 years now and learned all about the importance of domain names. Now all I have to do is sharpen my web building and affiliate sales skills and I'm good to go

As far as blackhat, I have no intentions of going there. I'm actually pretty darn happy even on the second page of Google

I don't know what is the problem with WarriorForum? Whenever we type BlueFart it automatically becomes 'BlueFart', the only solution is to re-edit. Anyways nice to see you staying on the white side of island. Good Luck.

P.S: Ok, even after re-editing its not working. I give up. I think the only way remaining is Black Hat (with space)

    Hi Jenn

You mentioned "be sure to check out where you are coming up for your main keywords", what does this mean ? Does this mean what tools are being used to find the keywords ?

    Cheers!

Oh oh sorry I just meant to do some research for your main keywords to see where you stand in the search engine rankings. I would use Scroogle.ORG and then check google too (without the customized results since that will definitely affect your positioning as to how google shows you your own site). Just be sure when you are celebrating being on the first page of google that its for a keyword that has traffic...and that you're not seeing false results due to customized results.

By the way, good job Jingles38...now that I get what you were saying I do realize it is a main keyword that probably gets good traffic...at first I though the * were spaces and I was like well who the heck searches for that?!

Just throwing out a random thought, but maybe you posted something on your blog and somebody found it and linked to it. A good high quality link will boost your rankings fast.

Ok, I am completely out of the loop here. What is your website name. Maybe I need glasses. I want to check it out.

Oh yeah, I am new to this forum and new to forums all together. Are newbies welcomed?

I recently tried to do a campaign on adbrite, but they would not accept it because my landing page (affililate page) has a pop-up on it when you try to x out. Does anyone know what I can do about this.?

Well the keyword is not searched often, and it is the name of your domain so that make it easy to rank for that specific keyword.

It's Great you made it on the search engines.

The key is actually is using the right "seo friendly" press release, article, and blog sites.

What I do for myself and clients I can get very competitive keywords up top of 1st page within hours and all white hat legit. When i do my services I guarantee 3 to 5 days top rankings for 5 or 10 keywords.

So my point is stick to the legit sites and if you write the seo material right, it can be picked up lightning fast. Don't let anyone tell you it takes weeks or months to hit top rankings.

First of all congrats on making it to the first page!

Second - does anyone know the most effective way of using Onlywire? I'm getting ready to sign up and trying to figure out the best way of using it. Do I just submit my sites once? Do I re-submit everytime I add new content? Do I submit the links to my EZA marketing efforts? That kind of stuff...
