Does edu, org, & gov links carry more weight

Hi Warriors,

I read a lot of debates wether edu, org, or gov links carry any more weight in google than .com links. Does anyone have an answer to this or can lead me to a thread that shows it does or not?

In my experience .edu does, .org does not, and have no idea about .gov.

As allways their are a lot of factors at play; a link from the home page of MIT is defiantly worth a lot more than say Norwalk Community College

Some say yes, others no, but what is certain that the more comments there are on a blog post, the less and less link juice you receive as it is divided by all the comments so if you are posting to heavily spammed links then you will get no real benefit whatsoever(not even the link juice)

Honestly, I have not seen much of a difference. Most do say that .edu and .gov are the most coveted.

I have heard .edu are most effective but then again that could all be lies!

I would like to know the answer definitely though...
