Does Software Convert Better As A Giveaway Item?

Hi All, Thanks for reading. Its been awhile since I posted on the Main Discussion Thread. Anyways, I would just like some opinions from warriors who do list-building. Do you split test different types of products to giveaway? Which, in your experience, converts the best? Ebooks? Videos? Free memberships or Software? For me, I have found that ebooks and free memberships convert the best. Have yet to try out software though. Would love to hear from everyone! Have a great day ahead, and thanks again.

Well I think is both your offer and the squeeze page copy.

If you copy sucks NOT matter how good your offer is, you won't get many optins
or if your copy is compelling but your offer sucks then people may think you suck.

So I think it really depends..

Of course the best offer is you address the common problems of your niche and
your offer is the best solutions for the problems that they are getting.

It's not software or information that converts better - it's the
promised "easy" mechanism. The illusion with IM software, for
example, is you set it up, push a button, and get traffic or
money or whatever. People want to believe in easy push-button
income, weight loss, fitness, happiness, whatever.

You can imply similar push-button success in promoting an
ebook or whatever. Creating desire is the critical issue,
and that comes down to copywriting, presentation, and
knowing your target market's secret desires.

Yes and matching the offer to that desire. The offer can be software, ebook, or just having the right link for them to follow.

Nothing converts better than knowing your market's desire as Loren stated and then having them believe that you will fulfill the promise to deliver.

Ted Nicholas, a great marketer, talked about understanding the "hidden benefit" in an offer.

An example would be having a software program that does your taxes more accurately than other software programs. The immediate benefit would be that you could have your taxes done with very little effort. The "hidden benefit" could be "Avoid An IRS Audit".

Now while others are advertising the ease of use with their software programs, you are getting to the real "secret desire" of that market. To avoid trouble from the IRS.

Sometimes, the market itself doesn't really understand their "secret desires" and if you can bring that to their attention it's powerful.

Look for that "hidden benefit" or the "secret desire" that Loren talked about.

For me membership helps the most. People are tierd of ebooks and normally ebooks offered free of cost are mostly of very little value.

Software/Script = More Perceived value as opposed to digital e-books.
