The Importance Of Tracking....

In case you haven't noticed...

There is a huge number of warriors here (myself included) who are constantly promoting the importance of tracking in your internet business.

And they have very good reason.

Tracking your vital stats, is massively important and can be the difference between success and failure at times.

There is a thread in the forum at the moment about a drop in sales for a Magic Of Making Up affiliate, you can find it here:

http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-up-sales.html

^^ If you scroll down the page a little, you can see a post from a certain Travis72802 - some of you might not yet know that this is Travis Sago, the creator of MOMU, and one damn smart marketer.. also of bum marketing fame

I could go into more detail about this topic, but he really does cover the important stuff in that post.

If you're struggling to make this sh** work....

You need to un-learn all the "marketing" B.S that is taught to you in the crappy $37 e-books.. and start to learn this kinda thing. This is the really smart stuff.

Read it, re-read it and soak up what he shares right there...

Here's a direct link to the post, but you might wanna read the OP to fully understand:

Peace

Jay

Basic stuff that people aren't doing. You def have to know which keywords and traffic sources are producing sales and which are not.

Clickbank now enables you to automatically insert a tracking code into the order process through your Clickbank Account:

Love what you guys are saying. Tracking your conversions and your traffic is so important. If you do not do this then how are you suppose to make smart decisions, everything then just become a wim.

By knowing your numbers and knowing where the buying markets are, you know where to focus your energy. You know, the old 80/20 rule. Know what pays you the money and spend 80% of your time on it.

Couldn't agree more guys. Tracking is vitally important. Also MASSIVELY overlooked...

And there really is no excuse not to do it nowadays as you can get this type of software so easily now. I use Google Analytics... and that's FREE!

        Hey,
Thanks for that..i see that you advocate using ISR from clickbank. I am stuck with a problem, that I hope someone can answer.

This is a question regarding "Integrated Sales Reporting".
I am trying to integrate this into Google Analytics. I am an Affiliate of various products on CB, am not a Vendor.
I looked up the instructions at Integrated Sales Reporting

At Step 6, they say "Define the Goal URL as the Thank You Page". Do they mean the thank-you page that the vendor forwards to after order completion?
If yes, How do I find this out? Is there any other way to find the "Thank you Page" URL apart from contacting each vendor ?
And a slightly techie question:- Can't I just use the "Regular Expression value" (that they mention in step #8) for Goal URL?

I have pasted the relevant portions below.

#1 Log in to Google Analytics
#2 Click Edit next to the website profile you wish to track
#3 Configure Conversion Goals and Funnel by clicking Edit to the right
#4 Set Active Goal to On
#5 Set the Match Type to Regular Expression Match
#6 Define the Goal URL as the Thank You Page
#7 Provide an appropriate Goal Name and Value
#8 Define the sales funnel in the following way:

        1. Replace the Step 1 value with the Product Pitch Page URL
        2. Make Step 2 the ClickBank Order Form visit with the following value: ^/order/orderform\.html.*$
        3. Make Step 3 the ClickBank Success Page with the following value: ^/order/ordersuccess\.html.*$

        #9 Click Save Changes

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks a ton.

Yeah, well, there should be some sort of IM certificate office and everyone who would want to become a marketer should pass a test, with really hard questions like:

          • Do you think it's a good idea to steal content from someone else?
          • Would you be happy to publish an article with loads of grammar mistakes?
          • Are you willing to spend your money on obvious BS?
          • Are you willing to promote and earn money from obvious BS?
          • Is spam at the top of your promotion methods?

          You get the idea...

            Very true.

Rather than blindly following dogma on a forum or from
other infomarketers, go to the place where you get the
            right answer every time...

            Your target market.

Test and track your vital stats and then your market will
tell you - by their actions - which format and offers work
            best for them.

Anyone who doesn't test and track is nucking futs.

            Dedicated to your success,

            Shaun
