PPC is pay per click - a method of advertising where you pay for traffic per click... every time somebody clicks your ad, you pay a pre-defined amount.

PPV is pay per view - a method of paying to watch films/movies in your home, usually "adult" based..lolz.

PPV = Pay Per View

As it relates to IM, certain sites will "pop up" a banner based on keywords you can buy (Targeted). The viewer of the pop-up has no choice but to view the ad as they agreed to do so in exchange for getting something free (usually a toolbar, smileys, etc).

So - the user is exposed to the pop-up - fee is around 1.5 cents per view.

PPC- Pay Per Click- At Yahoo, Google, MSN, Ask.com, etc.... where you pay for the no. of clicks you receive.

PPV- Also called CPV- Cost Per View/Pay Per View. As the name suggests where you pay for showing your website to potential customer.

Hope its helpful.

PPV advertising stands for Pay-Per-View. When people hear that they automatically think it’s the same thing as CPM (Cost Per Thousand Impression) advertising. It’s not! Pay Per View means you pay every time your landing page is viewed. Although that sounds like PPC it’s different because to view your landing page no one is clicking. Your landing page is appearing in a pop up.

There is a lot of hype about a ppv system called Rapid Mass traffic.

You will find some good info I am on this forum for PPV.
