The Latest On Youtube Marketing

I am a fairly experienced internet marketer but have not dealt much with youtube. One of my affiliates recently started sending me mountains of traffic from a Youtube video he put up. The video is garbage, but over night he has racked up over 3000 views and it seems to be authentic because the traffic is pouring in to my site and so are the sales. I ran a backlink check on his url and get nothing (though it's a little new to show up).

I've never spent too much time with youtube but results like this have got me interested.

My questions are these:

Anyone know of an up to date course or report on youtube marketing? I am not a newbie so I don't need the same old garbage.

Also, any ideas how someone might get this much traffic that quickly with a total garbage video? I mean garbage, just a slide show over music, it doesn't even have a good icon.

I want to get up to speed on where the cutting edge is with youtube marketing.

I hear almost half the videos on youtube are slide shows with music and/or voice over and they do the job.
