Can't Get My Head Around This ....

OK, just got an email for a product I was interested in and made the purchase @ $27 ....

Once inside the members area you are offered MRR ( Master Resale Rights ) for the product if you paid extra. Not a problem usually, as I accept that for a little extra, some publishers will offer MRR.

However, the terms stated that I could resell the same product I just paid the creator $27, for $7 to everyone else....... WTF ........ ??????

So now I'm waiting for emails from people offering me the same product I just purchased directly from the creator, for less than I paid.

Does that make sense to anyone ??

Why not just say on the sales page "Buy my product for $27, or wait for an email from someone else because it will only cost $7 from a reseller"

The publisher has a no refund policy ( I wonder why ) and I emailed them with my concerns that I just paid $27 for a product that can be resold for $7 and the response was:-

With respect, it's my product and I can sell at the prices I want and set the terms.
With respect, I think I'll tell the creator where to shove his pricing policy ... and the sun doesn't shine there

Actually he can't really enforce a minimum price, so his resellers could charge $1 rather than $7 if they wanted.

I would work on selling the product (if it's good) rather than worry about whether I spent $20 more than I could have... I could spend all my time trying to find the best price on everything and never get anything done.

Why would you even sell the product for $7 unless there is some very strong back-end or OTO?

Even then, the whole thing seems rather slippery - maybe spending time creating something of value to sell would be better.

        Hello Jeff,

When I see somethig I like and they are offering resell rights I do a quick search on Google and find the same product way cheaper and sometimes free if that is what he allows his resellers to do...

So always do a search first..

    Guys,

I take your point. Perhaps I'm taking things too seriously again.
I just hate being taken for a ride .....................

Yep the product was worth $27 I feel....

But if you paid $27 to access a membership site direct from the site owner, to then find out that resellers could sell memberships for $7 ... Would'nt you be just a little annoyed ?

Jeff, what are people supposed to do? Sell everything for $1 because a reseller might do that?

Nobody would create products with resale rights if that were the case.

I understand your frustration, but we are talking about a $20 difference. It's not like you paid $997.

I disagree, there is no need to move along at all. Jeff, you raised some good debatable points in your initial post.........

      Your intial post

And, it's because of these kind of tactics. That I won't buy anymore on first offer for the product.

I now wait at least 24 hours sometimes 48 hours, because after that length of time, I know that the product I was looking at will be available in one or two at least, of the PLR, RRR membership sites that I belong to.
So I can then go and download it for free and see if it's worth anything or not.

It's not the resellers that are at fault, it's the original vendors, who won't police their own products. They are like the modern day Bonnie and Clyde, they hold you up, take your money and then go on to the next heist!

      Just my 2c!

      Regards,

    Thanks Janet,

To me, the cost of the product is irelevant. I know it only cost $27 but the way it was marketed is the issue, not the cost.

Besides, these days $27 is a lot of money for some people.
