Can a trojan steal your commissions

Hey warriors, i know my computer has many virus and trojans but still i haven't clean them due to some reason.

The problem is from past few days i am seeing nice click outs on my articles but almost no sales in my clickbank account.

So i want to know is it possible that a virus does not let commissions get credited to your account or something like that. ( I know this may sound stupid question to technical people but I am really technically retarded so any tip is appreciated)

It's amazing that, for as impatient as you are, you couldn't find the time to reply once the other warriors offered you some assistance.

It seems to me that you have two separate issues, and both need taken care of, and rather immediately. First, get yourself an antivirus, and remove the viruses. If you can't do it yourself, find someone that can help you. Here are two free antivirus softwares that you can install and keep yourself protected:

      http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

AVG Free - Download Free Antivirus and Antispyware for Windows 7, Vista and XP

Second, replacing words for letters is just bad form. It's not a text message.

Besides that, have you had previous success for ClickBank sales, but now they've dropped off? Or you're just seeing a surge of traffic and no additional sales? Once getting an understanding of your hits and conversion, we may be able to find your issue. After that, possibly a solution? Never know.

Gotcha. You just seem to have wanted a really, really quick answer then didn't stick around for it.

I guess my big question that I'll post to everyone ... if he's getting clicks ... is it possible that after they've clicked his link that the sales could be stolen by someone else? It doesn't make any sense to me, but I'm still somewhat new to much of this.

Why don't you try a FREE online virus scanner. Here is a good one: ESET online scanner

The virus scanner should find all infections on your computer.

      Hi, Anoop,

I have just re-set all my Go-2 urls.

With over 6,000 hits in the last three months I can only assume that I am using them in the wrong places. They must be places where people are aware that they can cut out an affiliate by simply finding out where the site is and then going direct. It seems a lot of work but it is apparently quite a popular pass-time.

Don't worry about Trojans stealing your commissions - worry about marketers.

Incidentally, knowing that you have Trojans and doing nothing about it seems a little reckless.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!

To me this sounds like it should be your biggest concern.

As Art pointed out the viruses and trojans are NOT responsible for your missing ClickBank commissions. But they are a far more serious problem - they could cripple your computer to the point of being unusable and infect files you send to other people.

What exactly is the "reason" you haven't attended to this? I know that if any of my computers were infected it would be my new number one priority! It doesn't take too long, a few hours that you could do mostly while you sleep. And with the wealth of free and commercial anti-virus and anti-malware programs out there I can't think of any feasible excuse for not fixing your computer.

    Dude,

Having Virii or Trojans on your computer would be like
letting the MOB run riot in your restaurant...

You dont want that in your business do you?

PC & Identity Security along with Optimal running PCs is of high priority
from me and my business anyway.

Stuff the free stuff, pay for your protection man,
it'll save you loads of work & worry later down the track.

Go Norton 360 v3 or something.
That way you have a broad range of features and functions.

It's not a virus. You've either been unlucky, or you're messing something else up (landing page, niche, product selection, etc).

i had exact same problem, i was making between $20 to $100 daily then wham no money made in a whole week, turns out a trojan stole my password and uploaded some junk to my website.

looks like my commisions were stolen. i would reccomend scanning your computer with malwarebytes and avg. then reset all your passwords and upload original website files once again.

    that should fix the problem

      That's definitely possible.

I should elaborate on my previous post. There isn't a virus that can steal commissions (unless the buyer's computer is infected), but someone can definitely change the affiliate links, but I'm assuming Anoopchawla already checked his to make sure they were in fact untouched.

No I don't think so unless they go to your FTP and change the affiliate links :p

I know for a fact though that there is malware out there that can steal commissions by replacing affiliate ID's to theirs, but that would mean an infection on your customers computer and not yours.

First off, why haven't you gotten rid of the viruses and trojans? Don't you realize that you could destroy your operating system or in the most severe cases melt down your hard drive or mother board depending on the type of virus? You can also be infecting other people's machines if you are sending out emails etc.

So why don't you worry about that first before worrying about your clickbank account?

I have had a hacking attempt on some of my sits that I believe was stealign commissions ... i had to manually clean up a lot of hidden iframes.

On your computer though? Maybe ... hard to know really ... it is on your sites that i would be worried about

Why not act now when you know that your computer has viruses. WebWork is right you will eventually loose everything due to all the viruses you have in your computer, also if you have access on your website script your website will be in danger to be disable by trojans.

Yes. If a redirect is placed on your website or blog! Always take precautions if you have a website with high traffic.

Using a program like BitDefender can help you quickly scan through files after you back your site up.

I found this little guy in header.php on one of my sites the other day: Trojan.JS.Iframe.AED

These programs will redirect your traffic to a completely different offer. It's important to watch out for the darkside....
