Chatroulette...

I thought of the same thing.

Chatroulette is experiencing a lot of buzz right now, it's really nothing unusual but the news stations are locking on to it. It's amazing how news outlets will push something so hard for being "the hot new thing" before it actually is. Then after all the outlets mention it, people start talking about it, and it becomes the hot new thing.

Instead of thinking of how to capitalize on chatroulette, we should start thinking about how we can start the next one, and have news outlets giving us free advertising.

Hint: the idea doesn't have to be unique!

Good grief, I just went to this site to see what all the buzz is about and the first "chat" I'm sent to is a video of some guy buck naked and masterbating. >:-(

If they don't do something to regulate their content it will soon be nothing but a nest of perverts. Maybe it already is.

Needless to say, I'll never visit that site again. You can have it.

From what I've heard, there are already a load of people abusing that site. For instance, for the males who think they've struck lucky getting an attractive female at the other end. Often this is a video recording leading to plans to part you with your cash. In other words, a modern version of e-whoring. Probably best to be wary.

Today's NY Times ran an interview with the founder of the site. He created the site in 3 days and has been offered more than $1 million for it, though he supposedly isn't looking to sell it. Funny, though, that Google refusing to pay him for Adsense revenue because he isn't 18 years old.

BTW, you can apparently report abusers of the system; 3 strikes and they're out.

I got 5 people in a row once fapping off, I have also ran across several neonazis, a Hitler look-alike, a ninja, someone in a Halloween costume and other stuff.

All I've heard from the news is that more and more people are willing to show their privates to the world.... shocker... it wouldn't be that hard to monetize that site for people who think outside the box... cough cough...

Since the video can be anything you want, you can either create something specific
to the Chatroulette audience (hint: mostly males, people who are bored) or use any video you already have.

After that... it's just a matter of automating the "Find a new stranger" process so you
can connect to other visitors and display your ad to them.

I'm not entirely sure this tool will do the trick, but you basically want to setup a macro
recording that will click on the F9 button, find a new person to chat with, and
disconnect after a set period of time (assuming the other party doesn't disconnect first)
to automate the process of finding new people to see your video.

This is obviously a blackhat method because you're gaming the technology and using
it to market and promote rather than it's intended purpose, but that's the risk you'll
have to take if you want to try it out.

The conversions will obviously suck, but if you try to target the demographics of the site
with your offer (penis enlargement offers, dating sites, get your ex back, get abs offers,
etc) you could turn a profit with this kind of strategy.

If anyone does try this I'd be interested to hear your results.
