building list of newbies vs veterans of IM

I was wondering what everyone though about building a list of newbies... meaning a banner campaign talking about making money online, etc.

I've been thinking about it and I don't know how well I could promote affiliate products to a list which is clueless...

and also doing JVs would be hard too. No one would want to jv with someone with a clueless list, right?

how can I get around this and market to BOTH newbies and veterans?

    Why do you assume people are clueless? Being new and being clueless are not the same thing.

    I see a whole lot of inexperienced people thinking they are suddenly qualified to teach Internet Marketing. 6 Months down the road after a person throws up a site they are ready to teach the "newbies".

    If you look at who is sucessful at teaching/coaching you'll find that these people do not view their lists as "clueless".

    Many successful online ventures come from people who were successful offline.

    Just because you have a computer and can make a website doesn't make you a marketer.
