I have a new wordpress site that is predominantly video content.

The content is updated regularly and hosted on the site itself, but since there won't be a lot of text, how would you go about SEO?

Should I just trust that our google overlords will recognize the quality of my site, or are there other tricks I can do to optimize for certain keywords?

    Hi,

In the past few months i noticed that video directories are very good backlinks for your site. For example with daily motion, i got first place on G in only couple of days for one of my competitive keywords.

    I would say:

    1. Use really really good video titles.
    2. Make massive use of your tags
    3. Build a good amount of backlinks based on the keywords you are targeting < this is actually the most important one. I've seen sites with not much content ranked high for a certain keyword just because they have a massive amount of backlinks....

I plan on using TubeMogul to distribute all the videos that I post on the site, so the traffic from those back links will probably the main source.

Did the site you were linking to from your video have much text?

TubeMogul simply doesn't work any more, a lot of people use this amazing site for spam

What do you mean it doesn't work? Surely it would still be good for getting links and views? Even if other users are abusing it...

" if you want to find out more about ........ visit .........
or " please visit ........ to fin out more about this niche.....etc
one sentence or maybe 2, and that is all

That's ok, it's my responsibility to give them a reason to click the link I'll be weary of keywords when choosing the tags and headlines though. Is there anything that can be done on-site other than optimizing headlines and tags?

I think no, the most things deepens of quality of video, if they like your video for sure you will get some clicks more
