Where to start in article writing?

My wife and I are considering starting some article writing in our spare time. Where do we start? Where is the best place to go to find people looking for articles?

Thanks!

I use getafreelancer. I always get my articles written there, I get about 300 a month written there. Also not sure if you are a member of Wealthy Affiliate or not, but they have a jobs section where you could get plenty of writing jobs.

But I think your best bet is to just join getafreelancer and other freelancer sites.

Start by bidding super low, provide an example article for each project you bid on, and then once you get some feedback you will start getting picked for project more.

you could also start your own small niche site and write articles for yourself, you may be able to make more money this way, especially in the long run. Just an idea.

Start out right here. If you go on GAF you will be competing with people who are willing to write articles for a fraction of what you are willing to take. That place is great for buyers, not so much for providers...

webmaster forums, hands down. Next step would be outsourcing sites (like getafreelancer.com etc.) or trying craigslist advertising....but i think the usual webmaster forums are still your best bet.

Be aware that competition is large (and cheap), you will stand against many writers where the majority writes for $1/100 words.

Another option would be that you specialize in some way and get reputation on related sites/forums. You could establish a rep as writer in a special field and then you could make more money than your average "ezine writer" which writes for $1/100 words.

    Hi stevendbrady,

I would suggest trying it out here in WF. If you are having a hard time getting your first time clients, then offer your services for free to gather some feedback. From there, you should be able to get your clients.

Also, as a plus, once you have too many clients to handle, train more writers and upscale everything. Article writing is a business in itself.

    Hi steve,

Have you ever heard a WSO that contains the lists of more than 20 sites that pays you to write articles? I think that's what you need aside from WF marketplace... Freelance sites are tough to beat though...
