Wordpress: Upload 30 Posts Now - Or Add ONLY 1 Post Per Day? Which Do Search Engines Like Best?

I have a new site that uses the Wordpress platform and am wondering which is the best way from the standpoint of being noticed by search engines (especially Google) to add content to this site.

Of course I will be doing all the "normal" stuff to get traffic to this site, including getting one way back links etc., but much of the content of this site (30 pages minimum) will be added by me doing a short post about something and then people will leave their own comments (trust me, they will leave comments because this site is controversial).

So keeping that in mind, which of these 3 choices would be the best way to get my site noticed by search engines...

1) Build the site with ALL 30 posts immediately and then let the content build on each of those 30 posts as others leave their own comments (again, they will leave comments)?

2) Build the basic site and then add only one post per day for the next 30 days, and then let others leave content as they discover the site?

3) And if - if - if you think #2 above is the best approach (because I jumped the gun and already added those 30 pages a couple days ago), should I delete all those 30 posts and then re-build them on a 1 post per day basis?

Thanks very much!

I think it's better to space out your posts - about 2 per day if you have the content pre-written.

I don't think you should delete the posts you already entered though. Just continue to add content to keep the search engines happy.

From my personal experience I would post 3 to 5 right away
and then 1 per day or every other day through 30 days.

Search engines like when your post are "trickled" onto your
blog as apposed to all at once.

If you restrict your content to 30 posts it doesn't matter much how you time them. Cause after month 1 google will pretty fast find out that you're not adding fresh content.

That is not necessarily a bad thing, you can have a non-changing page in top SERP positions for years if you keep your backlinks coming and if the content is unique.

You are better off adding a few post everyday.. Especially if you have your meta revisit tag set to like 5 days.. Then you would add 3 - 5 or so post every 5 days to keep up with the changes on your site since you are telling the search bot your content changes every 5 days.

Adding a little at a time will be much more effective vs slapping it full of post all at once.

Thanks everyone for your input! I really appreciate it!

I plead stupid here (because I know better) but I obviously wasn't thinking clearly when I uploaded all 30 pages in one day last Monday.

      Here is the next question:

Again, this question is coming from the perspective of what will be best for my site as far as the search engines (especially Google). Since I already uploaded those 30 pages just 4 days ago, should I delete 25 of them and then proceed to re-upload them one or two per day? Keep in mind that the content to those 30 pages will continue to expand as people leave their comments and it won't be a big deal to delete and re-upload them again. What do you think?

      Thanks again!

I wouldn't delete the 30 pages. I would just focus on writing one or two new posts a day. You can write a bunch of posts all at once and schedule them to post as you'd like. Don't look back. Look ahead. You're on the right track.

Don't forget - with Wordpress, at least, and probably most blog platforms, you can schedule posts. So you can upload them at all once and have them get posted at whatever pace you like.

      Handy.

If the se's have not indexed those pages, you can remove them and start over. Start with just a few posts. You need to allow people to comment and let the site progress. If you have the 30 posts up there already, most people will only comment on the last few posts.

Why not just set them all to be posted every 2-3 days, that's 60-90 days of automated posts/articles.

I just checked and my 30 internal pages aren't appearing on Google yet (my home page has been indexed though). Not a big surprise since its only been 3 days. So I'm going to make most of them go away temporarily and then trickle publish them one or two per day.

        I am wondering about this...

Instead of fully deleting the posts, can I just hit the 'Unpublish' button in Wordpress and set them to RE-publish on a scheduled basis? Yes I know I can do that, but I'm asking if anyone knows if that could mess up my site with the search engines since they were already published/uploaded a few days ago?

        Thanks again.

I guess it's probably a little late to say this now but your most ideal situation would be to post one article a day in WP. You do that for about two weeks and then you cut back to one post ever two or three days for two weeks. After that you can post about every five days or so.

The trick is getting the spiders used to coming back to your WP site and finding new, fresh content. Each article should be focused on one keyword and about 200 words in length.

    Hope that helps!

I just "unpublished" all that stuff since it hadn't been indexed and will re-post the way you suggest.

      Thanks.

    Hi Steve,

I made the mistake of uploading 10 articles and they were all posted at the same time. For me the best posting schedule is about every two days.

    Success!

You are better adding 2 - 3 unique posts a day and spreading out the content over time.

At least then you do not run the risk of getting slapped by Google.

Ir probably would not matter if you did add all of them a tonce but better to be on the safe side.

      Just my 2 pence.
