The Anatomy of a Site Even Noobs Could Do...

I'm going to sacrifice this site as a learning example to help out other newcomers like me, and give the old pro's something to tear into,

I just recently got this to the point where it is, because I've been busy with my mother and fixing some computers for some guys and stuff...I really need to write some content for this and promote it more, but time is running out.

Fun Halloween Facts is the site, it's not done yet but at least all the affiliate links are fixed and work. This is something any of us can do pretty easily and adding adsense, ebay, and amazon will be easy enough.

So, if you've never done a site before and have questions, ask them...and better yet, if you know what you're doing and want to tear it apart, go for it!

I've used a Wordpress template with SEO plugins, made all my tables in the sidebar fit the theme, and I've just borrowed some content from EZA to get it noticed while I come up with some original content (all within their TOS).

There's enough free info here on the forum that anyone could do this or similar or better, so what's holding you back?

Let's make a discussion about it...

      If you go into your user CP, then "edit options", then "miscellaneous options", you should get to the section which allows you to edit your posting options.

      There are three choices: standard, standard+ and full WYSIWYG. Any of the second two will allow you to just type in the url for a "live" link.

      Well, that was worth waiting for..you've got yourself a pretty cool-looking site!

      Congrats.

      The only thing I'd say is maybe add an opt-in box above the fold (you could use a report, say 5 hot halloween recipes, as an incentive) even though there isn't a lot of time left before Oct 31st, you can be fairly sure that most of the opt-ins would have kids. That gives you a chance to send them appropriate offers down the line.

      Oh, and you should do something about that clunky URL
