RAP Bank Index - Anyone know how it is determined?

So I'm browsing through RAP Bank at the moment and finding some very cool stuff to promote.

I see that each product has an index score, which I assume is a parallel to the Clickbank gravity score.

Does anybody know how the index is determined for this?

Clearly higher number = good, but I'm curious to know the details.

BTW it's http://rapbank.com/ if you don't know what I'm referring to.

I just found RAP Bank a few days ago. Excellent site, and if I had to guess, I would think the index scores are probably based on sales.

I figured the same thing, but I wondered if they are using some kind of funky algorithm like Clickbank does, or if perhaps it incorporated a ranking against other vendors in an Alexa kind of way and so on.

I just asked the RAP Bank guys what the index score indicates and they explained to me that:

...it indicates the success of the product as it pertains to affiliate promotions, with a weighting toward more recent sales
So it works roughly the same as gravity does.

      Hey Kezz,

I was working on a RAP support issue late last night, and got a confirmation of what you said...

The RAP Bank "index" is DEFINITELY geared to weight affiliate sales over those sales that are NOT referred by an affiliate.

Without going into too much detail...
a RAP customer was consolidating sales made before he ever implemented Rapid Action Profits, into his RAP database - but he didn't import the referring affiliate info on those sales. Last night, we were able to capture that information and post it to his system in order to make his RAP sales distribution reports more accurate.

      Without doing anything else...
his RAP Bank index for that product was recalculated (you wouldn't believe the difference), and his product jumped up to the first page of the Marketplace listing.

Unlike Clickbank, where gravity can only be calculated based on sales made via hoplinks (the only information they have), RAP Bank pulls sales information from the merchant's database and results in increased accuracy because of that additional information.

The nice thing about RAP Bank is that it will become a central repository for RAP owners to list their products for affiliates to grab up and promote, just like ClickBank. Up 'til now, as you can see from posts here on the forum, people have been asking about where to find 'instant payment' affiliate programs. Now they will have it.

Great thing is it's starting to catch on with the RAP owners, and with over 1600+ people using it, it won't take long to fill things out. Plus, it has been set up by RAP people (both developers of RAP add ons) and it will only get better and better.

It was time for it to happen.

    Thanks,

    John

I've been a member of the RAP forums, but the only products I ever found in there to promote are all 'IM' related.

The RAP Bank site lists 'niche' products that you can promote, and that's what I think will be the biggest benefit of joining it.
