Best Place Host my Ebook?

I can't seem to get my website to serve up the pdf of my ebook.

For ebook writers, where do you house your ebooks after the sale is made, so the buyer gets redirected to it?

    x2 on e-junkie!

Curtis, if you're one of those guys who can't/doesn't want to invest in starting your business, then try bytecommerce. You host the file in a hidden location on your website and they handle the direct downloads with no upfront cost or initial layout to you. The catch? They take a fee out of your sales - 1 in 4! That's right, they want a QUARTER of your sales. However, it's useful for when you're just starting out. Use your first few bytecommerce sales to fund an account with e-junkie, then ditch bytecommerce. That's how I did it.

EDIT: To secure your downloads if they are hidden on your website, use a password protected zip file. Bytecommerce can deliver the password to your customers with their order.

    30 seconds of swearing......

Okay I found the problem, on my computer if I have a pdf already open browsers won't open up a page that is a pdf.

Yes but i will look at those online solutions. I also took a look at Payloads.com

My issue is that I use Joomla sites and simply pasting html into a page is not always that simple.

You can also always .zip it - so it becomes a one-click download and they can view the .pdf later after they unzip it. One of the challenges of actually hosting the pdf on your site unless it is protected behind a password is google can find it and index it.

Create a folder on your website. Protect it with .htaccess. Then redirect your buyers to a thankyou page where they get the password to login and download the ebook.

This is extremely basic method to deliver an ebook.

Any Qs, PM me if you want.

I put mine of keepandshare and when the buyer pays with paypal my gmail account autoresponds to their email with the link. Simple and it works. Of course you can not do affiliate sales this way, but you keep the most money per sale and no minimum payout since all the dough goes into your paypal account. If you see too many downloads versus sales, you just delete and upload it again. With ebooks their is no real way to prevent someone from sharing your work.
