Where are all the List Control alternatives? Frank Kern has done you a massive favour.

This gets me every time there's a big launch, where are all the products that complement List Control?

I know there are quite a few out there, and yes, some marketers 'get this' and are promoting just now, but I wonder how many people have a list generating product and think, "I can't promote this just now, there's a massive Frank Kern launch going on and I'll get swamped."

This is the wrong way to look at it.

This is THE BEST TIME to promote a list-related product, in fact you should've been doing it during Frank's launch.

Consider this...

Frank has warmed up the marketplace to fever pitch level. He's convinced a massive amount of folk that you need to be developing your list. And yet we all know that the majority of people who are all hyped up to buy a list making product won't buy Frank's stuff, for whatever reason, most likely because they couldn't justify forking out $2K

But hey, what's this, up pops you with an alternative, granted less 'fancy pants' and certainly more affordable option...

'Quids in' as we say over here in old blighty.

Don't just watch these launches, piggy-back on them, benefit from them - they're a fantastic marketing opportunity.

Peter, you get my e-mails, right? Either you or Heather, or both. Watch your inbox. I've got one scheduled for 8 pm EDT Wednesday. It's the less than 1% sale, LOL.

We'll keep an eye out for it Kevin.

You see, I knew someone like Kevin would prove my point.

If you know your stuff and you've got an appropriate complementary/alternative product, these big launches can be a huge bonus to your campaign.

I just got this clever email and it's great!

I think I'll get this one - I like the price tag better and Kevin's products are always good.

It's hard not to like a price tag that's less than 1% of the big ticket item!!

Kevin's products are so very good.

    called "Slipstream Marketing" about this.

    Nice point, Peter

Yep I've both USED and taught this technique as well - and specifically going after the "achilles heel" of each product. Why? Because they all have one.

It worked great with Keith Wellman's video skinning. He educated people so well to video marketing that we sold multiple different courses on video marketing like hotcakes at the time.

This guy already explained how to create and profit wildly from a mailing list, and he did it at NO cost in this video:

    http://masscontrolsite.com/blog/?page_id=9

Why not just send broke IMers to that link if they can't afford 2k and they still want to learn how to build a list according to what this guy teaches?

Frank's freebies are top quality but there's always more to learn than is contained in his free videos. If there weren't then he wouldn't have a paid-for product.

Anyway, this tip isn't exclusive to Frank Kern launches.

Who marketed a video making course on the tail of Andy Jenkins?

Who sold stuff aligned to product launches when Jeff Walker was promoting PLF?

Who promoted traffic tips when John Reese last time sold Traffic Secrets?

And you don't have to wait for the really big guns, there are plenty of 'smaller' launches going on that will assist you with your own campaign.

        Great advice...

The lesson isn't whom, but what...learn what is going on in your market place, and use it to your advantage.

All sorts of trends and topics move through the markets.

Also, know your segment. Only a few people hit the $2k segment, there's a lot of other price points out there.

But I wouldn't go so far to say he did any favors for me.

        (red emphasis above mine)

What was left out from the video I linked to that would prevent someone from creating and profiting wildly from a mailing list? In addition to the first video, there's even a SECOND video that walks people through the "techie" stuff of setting up a list and an opt-in form.

Maybe it's just me, but I thought it funny how Frank said in one of his live presentations (on video - one of the Mass Control videos, I think) that he kind of suggested he hated doing IM-related products and MMO-related stuff and the vibe I got was that he was going to stop it, but I could have greatly misread the vibe in that.

Funny how he comes out with a big product on the one thing that probably has the most material out there, anyway, so after buying lots of those "others", I'm curious to know if he includes anything new or stuff that you could learn from one of Tellman's $1 trial offers for his whole online course.

    We'll just have to see...

Given the size and scope of Frank's new course (as it will include 3 other modules namely Copy Control, JV Control, Product Control), I reckon whether or not you decide to come up with complementary products depends largely on who you are targeting.

If you are targeting more experienced IMers, more supplementary information products may be appreciated because they are able to filter out and dissect the mass of information properly to suit their needs.

If you are targeting newbies or less experienced IMers on the other hand, the supplementary products may be overwhelming and you may end up giving them analysis paralysis instead of value.

Thought I'd throw in a different perspective.
