I just deleted all my PLR content...
Well, I should clarify that statement. I deleted all my useless PLR content. The only stuff I kept had to fit at least one of these criteria:
1. I have already made money from it, and haven't incorporated the info from it into my general knowledge yet.
2. I paid for it and I intend to use it within the next few months... even if it's paid, it's not worth keeping if I'm going to "use it someday".
3. It directly deals with something I'm doing right now to make money, and I intend to read it ASAP.
4. I actively used information from it in the past three months.
5. It gives me an idea for a direction I could expand my business within this summer.
Then, I skimmed them and did another round of ruthless culling.
As far as I'm concerned, the rest is useless. All that "I'll use it someday" stuff -- gone. I went from a number of gigs I'm embarrassed to admit to under 2 gigs of products. Spotlight searches documents much quicker now. And I feel a lot more focused.
A few days ago, I sat down and completely mapped out my business goals for the summer (April to August for me). I incorporated time each week for "fun projects" -- projects which I don't know the profitability or viability of, but make my heart race and keep me motivated and having fun doing this work. Then, I made a list of specific fun projects I'd like to work on. I used that list when deciding what products to keep.
Have you ever done something like this? Doesn't it feel awesome?
