Need help obtaining Yahoo application ID - please

Hello everyone,

I need some help setting up the Google XML Sitemaps plug-in for WordPress. I specifically need help with obtaining a Yahoo application ID. This ID is required in order for Yahoo to be notified of blog updates.

So I am now on the Developer registration page. And on the page it is asking for some additional information. And to be honest with you I am not sure how to answer some of the questions.

For starters it is asking me for a authentication method. Which method should I choose? The options are:

1. Generic, No user authentication required This appid will allow you to make calls to our non-authenticated web services

2. Browser Based Authentication Use this option for browser applications

In the next field they are asking me for Developer/Company Name: So do I just put my full name in this field?

They are also asking me for a product name? What product? what should I put in this field? They are also asking for the web application URL? What exactly do I put in this field?

And in the last field it is asking for a description of application: (250 characters or less) I am now completely confused. What should I put in this section? What required access scopes do i select?

Can someone please help me with this issue. I would really like to obtain this Yahoo application ID. I do apologize for not being able to figure this out on my own. I think it has something to do with lack of sleep. I have been up for two days now. This developer registration page is very confusing. Yahoo does a very bad job at explaining things on this page.

Thanks in advance,
Gordon

I found this post while doing some searches: WordPress › Support [Plugin: Google XML Sitemaps] Help with Yahoo Developer Registration

I am glad that I am not alone. Its a relief to know that other users are also having problems with this registration page.

Hopefully someone can help me. I don't want to play the guessing game.

I got one the other day to use with WP Robot. Didn't have a clue about generic/browser so picked generic. Developer name I put my name, product name my website title, web application url my site url. Description was just a quick description of the site - Wp blog using Wp Robot. Can't remember now but think I chose single sign on for the last field.

      Got the key instantly.

      Hope that helps,

      Lynn
