Buying expiring domains

What is the ethical/moral thoughts and concerns with buying existing, expiring domains.

I just bought a domain, and when purchasing they listed some expiring domains that I could also buy.

One of them had a url that was a perfect keyword with 74,000 monthly searches and ranks #1 on google for that search. However... it was a very family friendly site and something that I really would feel bad about taking.

    I'll take it!

If the person let the domain expire, it's their fault. They have like 60 day+ redemption period to get it back...so it must not have been worth it to them or else they would have registered it as soon as they noticed it expired.

Take it. Before someone else does.

Domains drop for all kinds of reasons, not least because someone has kicked the bucket and hasn't left behind their password for someone else.

I would not feel guilty for taking something like this and making use of it, would you feel guilty for buying a house that was up for auction because someone decided it was time for them to croak it at 107 years of age?

You could always PM me the name and I can take it for you, I have no problem with that lol

If it really bugs you that much - register the domain name and if they contact you to get it back, give it back to them.

Just charge them a small, reasonable fee for your time, and give it back.

That's if you want to be a nice guy about it...
