does everyone who knows the experts become an expert themselves?

hi guys, we all knwo the type of people out there who seem to be on extremely good terms with the pros in any field including IM. Howevrr, it has been my observation that not every one of these people achieve osmoisis and become experts or well known themselves. Crack your head over this!! why is that the case?

because not everyone takes the time, or the action required to achieve that level of success. sometimes it also comes down to fear. fear of failure leads to more people quitting before they really have a chance to succeed...

    Funny sounding, but...

Always buying the next shiny thing, or attending tons of seminars kinda sounds like "I'm addicted to support groups, without needing support for anything."

It's like buying into a brandname. Buying under armor makes tons of middle aged men feel young and athletic again, without even getting back into sports. Maybe some people, even if they're not making the good money, just become in love with the idea of being an internet marketer.

Today's society is so focused on portraying yourself certain ways. People actually spend money on those stupid plastic "sunglasses" that have slits accross the front because Kanye wore them. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2iR2HsrsrG...est_shades.jpg

On a level, I know what you mean, in that I don't see how I could ever do something like that. But society is pretttyyy dumb these days...

The OP seems to be assuming that fame equals success.

        The reality is somewhat different.

Success is the achievement of whatever personal objectives you have set for yourself, nothing more. Your success is not the same as anyone else's.

I know respected experts (call them gurus if you like) who know all the answers and talk a great game, but struggle to put food on their tables.

I also know plenty of unknown nobodies who are very happy to remain anonymous while quietly making more money than you'd believe.

        Who are the successful ones?

And to address the OPs question, for some people, being 'in the loop' IS their measure of success.

I happen to know a couple of Famous Talented Actors.
Does that make me a talented Actor?
Even if they gave me tips and all their notes it's still
    not gonna happen.

    Martin beat me to it.

I think you're confusing success with fame or popularity.

It's the same reason that there are multi-millionaire famous actors killing themselves with drugs. You might think they're successful but they think life sucks.

Many people equate success with money or status, but as Martin said - people have different perspectives on success. I've seen people in terrible situations that think their life is wonderful and are blissfully happy, and others who have everything except happiness.

Some big named IM gurus are not as happy or 'successful' as you might think. That's not a dig at them it's just life - everyones version of success if different.

You might see a happily married couple but they might be miserable and hate each other when you're gone - that's people for you.

It's best not to try to make determinations about other peoples success and just focus on creating your own.

Maybe it's because the sidekicks are spending way to much time focusing on the "guru" and not enough time developing themselves.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

Many belive that the Gurus has some secret code that they are using to their success. The only reason most of these gurus are gurus is because they got into it early, and they took action.

You can know everything that Kern or Pegan knows, and still only make 10 bucks a month. It is the actions you take that matters.
