Latest Clickbank 'data' problem

Yesterday I noticed that Clickbank wasn't reporting 'hops' and the status indicator was saying that the data was delayed.

This morning I look, and the status indicator on the analytics page is now stating that the data is incomplete since March 11?????

I've been getting orders through, but.....

- if hops data is not being processed correctly,... well let your mind wander a bit and see if it goes the same direction as mine...

Yep...that is what ticked me off about the canned response that I got from my query to CB support...

      Questions:
Some other affiliates and I have noticed a major slump in sales and also some discrepancies in hop and order form impressions lately. Could you check on this for us?
For instance, I started testing my hoplinks just to make sure that everything was working ok and when I reach the order page I do see my affiliate id at the bottom of the page. Of course, in the analytics I have seen that for one product the order page impression didn't show up and for another the order page impression showed up but the hop didn't. It just seems very strange and it is making other affiliates wonder what is going on.
      Any help would be appreciated

      Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry! Please keep in mind that the Analytics page is not automatically updated. Analytics is usually updated every two hours with any new hop or sale data that occurred since the last update. When hop traffic is especially heavy, the Analytics updates can take some time to catch up to real-time reporting. Depending on the amount of information received the Analytics page can be updated as few times as once per 24 hour period, though this is a rare occurrence.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
      Best regards,

Of course, CB will say that the analytics and orders are not tied or they'll try to put some sort of spin on it but think about it. Why do you think that they have as part of their TOS or whatever that their tracking has the final say so on who gets paid what.

When the system works it works great. I have no bones about it and I have made good money from CB. And I also understand that they're running a business and it would hurt their reputation to admit that things got screwed up and people missed out on commissions...AND that the burden of proof is on the affiliate etc, etc, etc....I just find it frustrating. That's all.

Tom, this is going to sound like a really dumb question, but why do people
rely on Clickbank to track their hops?

I use my own personal tracker and it never lets me down.

My experience has been that Clickbank just has way too many problems in
this area and I prefer to be in control of the situation myself.

        But maybe that's just me.

Anyway, as far as this problem, guess there's not much you can do about it.

        It is what it is.

          Hey Steve,

Good morning, In answer to your question about relying on Clickbank hops - I don't.

I use my own analytics system (WebCEO) which in my opinion gives me enough information about my visitors that I can almost tell you what their hair color is.

The point of my post Steve, is not that I'm relying on Clickbank to report hops. It is the point that if they CAN'T track hops reliably, then....what about tracking my orders, which are directly related to the number of hops. (For example, for each Clickbank product I sell, I can tell you exactly how many click-through's/hops I need to get one order.

So far that click-through to order ratio isn't out of whack, but....am I missing an occassional order or two?

EXACTLY my point! I don't want to get into a big ole thing accusing CB of wrongdoing because that's been done to death on this forum. All status messages from CB always state: "This issue only affects analytics. Hops and the order form functioned correctly during this period." But then again as you can see from my response from CB ABOVE they were incorrect in their response to my question.

See your point Tom. Thanks. Yeah, this topic has been pretty much
            talked about a lot here.

I don't know what to say. I haven't personally seen anything in my stats
that indicates I am losing sales I should be getting, but who knows.

Anyway, I hope you manage to get it all worked out to your satisfaction.

Me? I'm still trying to figure out how to get the toothpaste back in the
            tube.

I am seeing the same as the OP. I saw a huge spike of traffic on the 10th and no conversions and data is still back to the 11th as of this post. As far as your response from CB I have given up, it is the same ol' canned response that does not instill a lot of confidence or motivation to continue to promote products until their is an improvement in their tracking.
