Hello,

Can you please tell me how i go about doing the following.
I want a signup process with the following.

Step 1) opt in - enter first name and email.

Step 2) you are sent an email (you must go to your email provider)

step 3) you are sent from the email to a basic registration form via a link

step 4) your name and email are already filled in for you on this registration page

step 5) Thats it you have completed the signup process

By doing these 5 steps you are in our amember database and signed up and opted in to our aweber database.
I only want them to click one confirmation link via email through out this process.

any scripts that i need to purchase?
please reply.

Sounds like a good idea. I have not seen one yet. You could hire a coder create one for you.

    Hey,

    You can simply the process:

    1. Use comes to your aMember signup page...
which has only Name and Email to ask...

    2. User is added to aMember + User is added to Email list (using the plugin for that autoresponder like one for aweber)

    That is it!
I remember once we setup this process for our client.

One thing: username was given as email...
and password was auto-chosen and sent by email..
so user was not even asked to register...just a simple opt-in..
and he is registered as well as added into aweber.

    Does this helps?
    Regards,
    Mohsin
PS. aMember signup page is also customized not to look like a standard
aMember...so user is not confused or asked more than a simple action of optin..

In theory, I think you can get Aweber to send variables like name and email to the confirmation page to write them in, so you would make the confirmation page = the registration form and write them in there.

In practice, I never got that to work (didn't try too hard, though). I use the Amember-Aweber plugin and single optin, so the process goes like this:
    1. Join Amember membership
    2. On the 'thanks' page, find the Aweber subscription form for that product with your name/email already filled in.
    3. Just click 'subscribe'
If you need help, I'd strongly recommend talking to Amember tech support: very knowledgeable, very helpful people.
