5 Easy Steps to Earning an Income on the Internet

Anyone can earn an income on the Internet. Even if you are 15 years old or 65 years young. It does not matter what age you are, or where you come from. The main thing that you need to posses, if you want to earn money from home online, is to have these essential things:

1. A computer with high speed connection
2. A credit card for advertising
3. A strong desire to succeed
4. And most importantly, knowing where and what to advertise.

This brings me to the point where I want to share with you 5 easy steps that you can take to earn an income on the Internet.

OK, let's get started.

Step 1. If you want to be a professional, the first thing that you want to do is to register your own domain name on the niche that you want to focus on. A domain name is this: yoursitename.com

Step 2. On the Internet, there are thousands upon thousands of online products that you can sell. It can be anything. Here is a very small list of the things that you can sell online.

Piano lessons, work at home opportunities, posters, natural cures ebooks, history ebooks, CD's, tapes, books, chef ebooks and anything that you can think of.

Find a niche that you want to focus on and find a company that has an affiliate program. Go to a search engine like Yahoo or Google and do a search for an affiliate program on that niche. What you will do, when you find a good affiliate company, is to sign up with their affiliate program. They will then give you your own link that you can promote. Once you have that, you can sell it on your website.

Step 3. Once you have your own website up and your affiliate link in it, you will want to start bringing in traffic to it. Many people make the same mistake and think that just because they have a website up and live, people will come to it without them doing any advertising. This is wrong thinking.

No one will see your website without you doing advertising. It is not going to happen. You need to go to the major search engines like Yahoo, Google, and MSN and set up a Pay Per Click campaign. The easiest way to do this is to see what other advertisers are doing in your niche. What ads they are putting up. What product descriptions they are using.

Now, in terms of keywords, you will need to enter that too when you first get started in Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising. If you are not sure what keywords to use, go to Google and do a search for "keyword search".

The first one that you will come across will probably be "Google AdWords: Keyword Tool". Click on that and do a search for keywords in your niche. Then add each one and bid as low as you can. the bids usually go for $0.10-$0.50 cents.

Step 4. One of the most important aspects to your website is to get an email newsletter going. If you take a look at my website below in the resource box, you will see that I have about 4-5 ways for a visitor to subscribe to my e-newsletter on the website itself. Giving this option to your visitors, will allow you to follow up with them and make more money in the future and you build a relationship with them through email.

Now, if you are going to have an email subscription form on your site, then you will need an autoresponder company that you can join. I recommend two companies that specialize in this. They are called Getresponse.com and Aweber.com.

I am not going to go into specifics on how you should set your account up so you need to do some research on that. These companies have their own tutorials on how to set up and account, how to set up your follow up emails, and how to get a form on your site so that your visitors can subscribe to your free newsletter.

Step 5. If you find a niche that you want to focus on and know about the subject, a good way to get some free traffic to it is to write articles like this one and have your website link at the bottom of your article. A good article service that you can use is called EzineArticles.com. They are one of the best article directories out there online. I have been writing articles for almost 2 years and EzineArticles.com is the best of the best.
