Whats the deal with isnare article directory?

I submitted a few article to Isnare to see how it goes about 4 months ago and they are still in the process of being reviewed.

I always heard of Isnare and how good they are and the fact that they also publish to other directories. But I didn't know you have to pay for article submission. And when I found out I thought it was just for their submission service to other directories, but seems like you have to pay for even submitting to their own site.

I guess I am just trying to see if I am understanding it correctly, because I have seen people mentioning Isnare as a free source for submitting articles to. So whats the deal? I mean, if nothing is free, is their service worthy? Have you guys(who use Isnare) had any positive experience with them?
I would appreciate any comment related to this subject. Thank you in advance.

    I've been using them for years and had excellent results.

    But I must admit I haven't used their free option for quite a long time now.

    Thats wht I mean, people say their is a free option as well, but I cant find it on isnare. In the section where my articles are waiting for review, it says "your article wont be reviewed if you dont have any credits", which you have to buy them. It doesn't say you have to wait longer or what have you. Thats why I am kind of confused when people say its free.

      The free option is to submit to their own directory while paying allows you to submit to 1000+ directories, thought I did a quick check of those directories, they aren't quality but do fair enough for backlinks.

      But your articles took 4 months to be reviewed? That's ridiculous! GoArticles doesn't have review time, my ezines does mine within 3 days.

        Whilst they do technically have a free option, they take absolutely ages to approve those articles. Basically, it's not really in their interest to do so. I guess that they assume that you'll get bored with waiting and just pay up.

        You may as well just pay. It only costs a dollar or two and you'll get links from places that you wouldn't otherwise have access to.

    My articles from Nov '09 are still pending. I stopped using them, and don't want to pay for their service. I have other better paid options I use, as well as other free options as well.

    I am with JayYamada. I too was planning on using this site to get my articles out there but I do not really want to be paying for article submitions. There are way too many free options for me to care enough about a paid option.
