Cool Tool - Auto-Saves Screen Shots / Captures as .JPG file

I'm going to have to take a lot of screen shots for something coming up and I already know how much time it takes to do it my way, which is to hit
"Print Screen" then open Photoshop, new file, paste it, save for web, and so on.

Well, with the number of screenshots I will need to take this would just waste so much time, so I googled for an automatic solution and found one.

smartision ScreenCopy

That link is the page for the free, open-source, SourceForge software that lets you take a screenshot and it automatically saves it to whatever folder you want, and names it with whatever naming structure you define in the settings.

So, what would take me 20-30 seconds per screenshot, now takes one second per screenshot.

Pretty cool right? Just thought I would share. Will make my life easier and my time more efficient.

I use SnagIt - it's Camtasias little brother and I've been very happy with it for several years.

If you have Microsoft Office Suite on your machine, you probably have OneNote. VERY handy little tool as well. And it keeps everything nicely organised, etc.

    Highly recommended.

Yes, I second the Snag-It tip. I use that, too. Horses for courses.

Snag It has a nice little editor built in if you want to capture something, save it, reopen it and add some text or a shape or another annotation to it, and then re-save the new file (so you don't mess up your Master shot).

      Great tool as well!
