Local businesses don't care whether you code everything from scratch by hand provided you can deliver what you promise. Some people swear by html because it allows them to do all kinds of things with websites. Others prefer click & drag website builder like the one you're taking about. I've never heard about html being 'bad for search engines' ... where did you get that information from and what actually was the sources referring to as bad? In terms of what you should use, let your current skill and knowledge be a key determining factor in your final decision along with ease of use of any tool. |

i cant see this happening really. can you really see apple releasing software that isnt up to scratch? i admit though, dreamweaver even had its flaws. not all the time but you still had to check the script to make sure it was 'clean' and not poorly coded. the way i see it is, if you use a wysiwyg editor just view the html code and check the script before uploading. | |

I used iweb 08 and 09 for awhile. It is very easy to use but it builds sloppy coded sites that load way too long. Plus you will need to use additional software to make it SEO friendly, tons of plugins, and load faster. I really wanted to stay with iweb but it just doesnt work for business. I am now using wordpress and it works awesome! Just buy some flexx themes and tweak them for businesses. If you are still going to use iweb, then make sure to buy website maestro $39.95 (30 day trial) and iweb seo tool (free) to help reduce the junk code, seo optimize, and speed the pages up. It is a pain in the butt to do this every time you make a change to the site or page. Trust me, just learn wordpress and your life will be much much easier. |

The link I gave above to the flexx theme has tutorials on how to use it. Very easy. Also another one I use alot is flex squeeze page which also has tutorials on it. Here is a site I made with iweb: The Blessing Page (this is the last site I have left on iweb and about to change to wordpress) it is hosted on hostgator. When I had it hosted with .mac it was 40X slower to load. I also used the web site Maestro to speed up the pages by 30-40%. These I made with wordpress: Here is a site I made with flex squeeze theme: Dr. Dan is The Real Love Guru! | Dr. Dan is The Real Love Guru and here is one I made using flexx theme: | Steven Reynoso Studio |

Omg iWeb is a coding NIGHTMARE. Everything loads incredibly slow. It looks pretty but its NOT worth it. Check out the equally nice and 10x more powerful & easy to use Rapidweaver. Get some of the plug-ins (stacks) and you're laughing. It's what our guys use. Cheers - Adam |
